Dear Sir/Madam,
Batangas State University is improving the quality of our graduates so they can be more effective
in the workplace. We are switching to an Outcomes-Based Education (OBE). This necessitates academic
restructuring by changing our philosophy from what we teach to what students learn. Through the
help of the Industrial Advisory Committee and the stakeholders for the program, the University had
established desired program objectives as well as student learning outcomes and sequentially will assess
and evaluate the success in achieving these outcomes and objectives. Ultimately, quality of education is
achieved by making adjustments in courses and curriculum, and if appropriate, improve facilities and
other aspects of the educational system. This will ensure better graduates and therefore better employees
of our industrial partners.
At the College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts (CEAFA), it is our utmost intention to
produce a realistic and reliable assessment and evaluation of Program Educational Objectives (PEOs).
PEOS are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to achieve in their professional and
career practice three to five years after graduation. Program educational objectives are based on the needs
of the programs constituencies. We need to assess and evaluate the degree of attainment of these PEOs
by our alumni collectively. These will be used in the continuous improvement of quality education of our
Chemical Engineering program. We believe that your valuable insights about our alumni as a whole will
surely help us in achieving this goal.
In this light, we are asking for you to please help us in the accomplishment of the attached survey
for employer, preferably to the supervisor who directly supervises our BS ChE alumni. We would like to
request for this survey be returned via email maroesshi@gmail.com or hand carry through our alumni,
student, or OJTs who are currently employed to your company. Attached are the questionnaires for you to
accomplish.
For your information and reference, our programs have established desired Student Outcomes
(SOs.) SOs specify what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These
relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program.
These SOs are assessed and evaluated internally. The list of SOs is attached.

laws.

Chemical Engineering Code of Ethics.
