to be the most terrified, ordering his men in a panicked state. Gonzalo
appear to be quite loyal to his King, suggesting the crew go and pray with
the King/ For our case is as theirs. On the contrary, Sebastien is willing to
part with the KIng, responding lets take leave of him to Antonios
comment of lets sink with the King.
2. Miranda is Prosperos daughter. She is extremely distressed at the sight
of the men suffering as the tempest destroys their ship, claiming that if
she be any god power, she would have sunk the sea within the earthor
ere it should the good ship so have swallowed. As such, the metaphor
present underscores her emotional sensibility and overall anguish at the
scene she has witnessed.

Bore us some leagues to sea and by providence divinecame ashore

be executed. They were also both left on the island with their child,

of spirits.

away from me/ The rest of the island. He also feels that the island be
mine by Sycorax my mother/ Which thou takst from me, the aggressive
tone highlighting his sense of injustice in Prospero controlling the island.

violate/ The honour of my child.

to make thee speak, taught thee each hour/ One thing or other. However,
he chooses to curse because he feels a great deal of resentment towards
Miranda and Prospero because they keep him in a cave, concealed from
the rest of the island. He also curses Prospero because the latter, in his
opinion, has stolen the island which should be his by birthright and
consequently enslaved him.
