WILD, WONDERFUL, WEST VIRGINIA!

OCTOBER 13TH-18TH, 2016
DAY 1: After departing Central Illinois from selected departure locations, we will head to Parkersburg,
WV for our first night.
DAY 2: We will start out the day headed to Holls Chocolate. After being stuffed with sweets, we will board a sternwheeler
vessel and ride to Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, famous for their mansion. Included on the Island is a
guided tour of the mansion and a horse drawn
wagon ride around the Island. Accommodations
tonight are in Barboursville, WV.
DAY 3: This morning, board the New River Train
where we will enjoy a boxed breakfast and
enjoy the breathtaking Autumn color aboard
classic restored passenger railroad cars
for a 65 mile ride (approx. 4 hours) along the
New River Gorge to Hinton, WV where we
will enjoy the annual fall Hinton Railroad Days
then re-board our coach to our home for the
next two days, Beckley, WV. Our train ride is
in a Dome Car, the most premium of the train.
DAY 4: We will be visiting the 5-star Greenbriar
Resort, including a tour of the famous Bunker.
The secret is out! The Declassified Bunker at
The Greenbrier is a must-see experience that
takes you behind the scenes and walks you
through a fascinating period in the resorts history. Carved deep into the mountainside beneath their West Virginia
Wing is an emergency Cold War fallout shelter. Once a top secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress,
The Bunker is now open to anyone interested in reliving a legendary piece of The Greenbrier history. Bunker Tours

DAY 5: Our day begins at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine where we travel underground in authentic mining cars. We
will also spend time in their re-created company town. Lunch this day will be on your own in Fayetteville. We will
make a stop at the New River Gorge Visitor Center before embarking on the Hawks Nest State Park Aerial Scenic
Tram to the bottom of the gorge, where we board our Covered Jetboat as it takes us along the river for an exciting
journey. Accommodations this night are in Jeffersonville, OH
DAY 6: Full of wonderful memories we will arrive home today. Breakfast each morning and one lunch are included.
