All - Can jog at an even pace for the duration covering up to 2100m
Most Understand the assessment and correct procedure involved in the 12min cooper run.
Can jog at an even pace for the duration covering between 2200m 2399m
Some As above, and Can jog at an even pace for the duration covering between 2400m
2700m
Starter: To set objective of the lesson.

The aim of this test is to run as far as


possible in exactly 12 minutes. The distance
covered will then give a rough estimate of
students condition (see reference table).
They will need encouragement to try and
run at constant speed. (possibley use
whilste blows every 30 sec / 1min for pacing
purposes).
Explain If they get too tired, slow down or
walk for a while. But dont stop
Procedure:
To undertake this test you will require a 200
/ 400 metre running track - marked every
100m or a flat measured running area and a
stop watch.
The test comprises of seeing how far a
performer can run/walk in twelve minutes.
