Objectives:
All - Demonstrate learning by developing the 3 phases of a general warm up.
Most Able to relate warming up and cooling down to their own specific sports and activities.
Some As above, and can isolate certain movements from their own specific sport and link
stretching/ mobility exercises to them.
Starter: To set objective of the lesson.
Main Lesson: Planning and demonstrating students own warm-up and cool-down
sessions (CRT Levels: 3c 5c)

This should include:


Pulse raising mixed with mobilising,
ensuring that when stretching the body
temperature and heart rate remains
elevated
Development of more able students:
Add new flexibility exercises and make
direct link to sporting actions. For example,
Adductor stretch for the hurdles. Hip flexor
for racket sports. Triceps stretch for
throwing events. Neck stretch for rugby.
Calf stretch for triple and long jump. Soleus
stretch for long-distance running.
Gluteal/lower back stretch for discus. Wrist
stretch for climbing, basketball and netball.

Students referring to their Heart rate, and how


they should be feeling

Ask students to link their own stretch to a


sport specific action that they know and
recognise.
In student dDemos highlight the idea of
Quality and not Quantity.
Coaches / Non-doers to use the points to
consider section on their card for reference
Conclusion: A few students demonstrate
some of their activities

Plenary: To re-cap lesson objectives In groups, 1 minutes discussion on teaching points on
lessons skills. Teacher lead Q&A, ask questions to pupils to confirm understanding / why they
would do skills / and TPs.

AOTT: Helping with coaching and organising pupils and stations in circuit. Supporting Lesser
able / Most able pupils with further assistance or development.
