WHAT IS POLLUTION?
Air, one of the most
important and common
key to our survival in this
world yet it is still taken
for granted by the
plantation of factories
that pollute the air and
making it impossible for
us to breath in. When we
think of air pollution, as humans we first think of the factories,
forest fires, volcano eruptions and other corrosive gases however
we ignore the fact that we also cause at least half of the
population in the world. This is due to the fact that most houses
in dont have the technology to help install a smoke filter in the
house or just that they dont have the financial stability to
purchase one so they just let the smoke rise out of their
chimneys this causing pollution in most small villages or towns.
Translation to Swahili below.

CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION

Natural causes
Dust and Wildfires:
In large and open areas
with less vegetation and
shrubs and dry grass, there
is a possibility of a wildfire
occurring and these happen
due to lack of precipitation.
The smoke and carbon dioxide caused by these wildfires
contribute to the rising levels of carbon in the atmosphere. In
lands where there is also lack of precipitation, wind can create
dust storms which can be hazard for living organisms.
Translation to Swahili below.

viumbe vilivyo hai.)

MY FOCUS PROBLEM (TATIZO KUU)

Manufacturing factories
are one of the largest
releasing carbon dioxide
stations and other
chemicals and organic
compounds depleting the
quality of air in terms of
cleanliness or at least safe to breath in and with rising level of
manufacturing factories the world will soon be a dangerous place
to live in and petroleum refineries also release hydrocarbons and
other various chemicals that cause not only cause air pollution
but land pollution too. Household cleaning products and other
painting supplies expose toxic in the air and cause pollution and
most of the time, once a house its been painted, there is usually
a smell which makes it impossible for a person to breath.
Translation to Swahili below.

WAYS TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION (NJIA ZA

KPUNGUZA UCHAFUZI WA HEWA)
1. If possible, install a device called an electrostatic
precipitator on your chimney. (Kama inawezekana,
nyumba ziwekwe smoke filter kwenye jiko ili
kukabidhiana na moto unotoka kwa jiko.)
2. Avoid Using chemical pesticides or fertilizers that are
harmful to the environment. (Epuka na kutumia dawa au
mboleo ambazo ni hatari kwa mazingira)
3. Avoid using household supplies like spray paint outside
with the presence of people.

COMPLEX ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATORS

Diagram of a complex electrostatic precipitator/ Mchoro mgumu
wa muundo huu.

These are mostly used in factories since industries produce a lot

of smoke so they need such models last longer/ miundo hii

SIMPLE ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATORS

Diagram of a simple electrostatic precipitator/ Mchoro rahisi wa
muundo huu.

These are mostly used in houses since they are easy to make and
also do not need a large power supply to work/ (Hizi hutumiwa
umeme mwingi.)
