When in the grand scheme of my life, I currently find myself committing to a

wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities in order to better develop myself
as a knowledgeable and contributing citizen in the future. In addition, I have aspired to
serve others, and have done so through service-oriented organizations and clubs. I plan
on learning and obtaining experience from these extracurricular activities in attempt to
better prepare myself along my journey in the hopes of becoming a General Surgeon.
As for an example of an academic activity, Anatomy and Physiology has
supported myself in achieving my goals. This difficult course discusses, in vigorous
detail, of the structure and function of the human body and of its smaller components
that make it a whole. Taught by a straight-forward and obstinate instructor, Anatomy
and Physiology is a strenuous course. Relative to athletics, balancing these two subjects
has better taught myself how to more appropriately manage my time. All-in-all, the
science course has giving myself an insight as to how our bodies are composed and why
that is so. Moreover, the course has been a structured preparatory foundation for the
necessary continuation of growth in my knowledge and studies needed along the
journey becoming a General Surgeon.
Pertaining to the strenuous and lengthy journey in becoming a doctor, I also
participate in football which has developed my knowledge and experience in handling
adversity. Also, after nearly four seasons of football and offseason hard-work, while
maintaining a high A-average, has helped enhance my dedication and willingness to
persevere and focus during the advancements of completing a long-term project.
Moreover, I feel football has provided me with the necessary tools along the journey of
pursuing a career in the medical field.

Of the various clubs I currently participate in, I'd like to take note of my
involvement with the National Honor Society. This is a merit-based organization with
high academic standards also incorporates the character of students prior to their
possible acceptance. In the organization, our philosophy is to volunteer within the
community. Throughout my adventures supporting and serving others, I have found
jubilance which I take to heart. In perspective, I believe this to be an essential
component in a happy workplace in the medical field as my sole purpose is to improve
the lives of the patience I am set forth to serve.
As for future academic and extracurricular activities, I anticipate participating
with groups and in activities that are science-based and support the ideology of serving
others. I believe with the combination of these two genres of organizations, I will be
more experienced and better prepared to pursue a career as a General Surgeon.
In summation, with the combination of both Anatomy/Physiology and the
National Honor Society, I found a fond interest in learning of the human body and also
have the desire to serve others. In my opinion, these both have added to my
understanding and knowledge that being a doctor is a career I am willing to put forth
much time and effort towards achieving. In addition, with the dedication and loyalty I
have learned from football, I feel I have further gained experience that I can utilize
towards reaching my future objective. Considering my lifetime goals, academic and
extracurricular activities have strengthened my desire to pursue my aspirations and
have made myself a more well-rounded individual; thus, theses current and future
activities will support me in accomplishing my goals.
