Reflection: I struggled a lot with this activity. I really did not understand how to make the
equations until Dan explained it to my peers and I. I was originally confused on how to find the
y-intercept in the equation. I did know how to use point slope form to find the slope of the
equations though. After help from Dan and my peers and I came up with the equations above. I

then plugged them into desmos. I was comfortable using desmos because I used it in Algebra 1.
When, I plugged into desmos I put in my equations as y= instead of f(x). After I talked to Lydia
and Emma they helped me realize my error. Even after I found this out my graph still looked
wrong. After that I talked to Acacia about how to add inequalities, using the x-intercepts, into my
equations. When I did this I realized two of my equations did not match. So I conferenced with
Acacia and Emma and I finished the equations and graph correctly. To conclude, I could not
have done with without the support of my friends.
On my graph the x-axis is the time and the y-axis is the distance traveled. This graph is a
function, therefore there is one output per input. Time is the input and distance is the output
because the distance is a result of the time you walk. Distance could not be the input because if
you went back in distance you would be breaking the vertical line test. Also, this would mean
you would be going back in time which is impossible.
