Generators with Renewable Energy Sources (APPA) and member of the Board until

Rec dels 4 Pobles, Catalan Pyrenees. Spain Power installed: 1.88 MW
Rehabilitation of the irrigation canal and construction of a new small hydropower plant.
Agricultural income:
Improvement of spray irrigation
Improvement of production.
Possibility of increasing spray irrigation in 52 Ha.
Energy results:
Generation of 14.4 GWH/year of renewable energy.
Financial results:
Reduction of water consumption through the process of irrigation.
Power generation economically remunerated.
Social outcomes:
Involvement of local farmers in the management of the project.
Improvement of farmer's competitiveness.
Environmental outcomes:
75% of savings in irrigation water.
Green landscape maintenance.
Reduction of 5000 T/year of the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.

EL PERELL

Wind farms in Spain:

- 17 General Electric wind turbines of 750 Kw.
Commissioned in July 2001.
- 54 Gamesa wind turbines of 660 Kw. Commissioned in
April 1999 and July 2000.
- 1 Alstom prototype wind turbine of 3,000 kw.
Commissioned in 2008.
TOTAL POWER INSTALLED: 51.39 MW

Wind farms in operation: 13.8 MW

Wind farms under construction: 36.8 MW. Commissioned
expected in April 2017
Wind farms currently on development: 60 MW.
New project to build 100 MW of wind farms and
photovoltaic projects to be in place in 3-4 years.

Example of a local cooperation with the municipality of El

Perell:
El Perell is a municipality with 3,000 inhabitants, located near
the Mediterranean sea in Catalonia.
The cooperation with El Perell was based on the following
points:

A. Economic contribution.
Voluntary contribution of 3% of yearly turnover plus
official taxes amounting to about 3.8 M in 15 years.

B. Local employment .
Working in Operation and Maintenance of the wind
farms

C. Visitors
farms Centre.
Guiding visitors, since 2000 about 83,000 visitors,
approx. 6,000 people per year to the Wind Farms.

Evolution:

From 1981 up to year 2000, our selling price was the same fixed for the power
bought for industries connected at 30 kV.
From 2001 up to year 2007 pool price + premium.
From 2007 up to year 2013 pool price + premium but with a cap and floor .
Since 2013, new regulation applicable :
1. Existing Wind Farms commissioned before 2004, pool price without premium
2. Existing Wind Farms commissioned after 2004, pool price plus fixed amount per
MW installed
3. New Wind Farms to be installed, auction system
