What were the foreign influences in Philippine culture during the pre-Spanish Period?

Explain how these


influences are being felt today.

1) Houses Such as Nipa huts, tree houses and houses on stilts houses along the coastal areas.
2) The Government known as the barangay government made up of 5 -10 barangays, is governed
by a datu which is the one who implements the laws. ( The laws may be written or unwritten)
3) Trading A susbstantial amount of Chinese goods began to flow in the archipelago
4) Musically gifted such as the kulintang (brass or bronze gongs) and subbing harp of the
Palawan People
5) Male and Female Clothing: For the male upper part kangan, For the lower part bahag. For
the female jacket baro or camisa while the lower part was called saya.
6) Taxation We are all subjected to pay taxes which may or may not benefit us depending on the
usage of the government. It should be used for the repair and maintenance of different
structural places ( eg: roads and other forms of construction)
7) Religious beliefs We all have different religious beliefs but this shouldnt cause a great gap
between other people because cultural diversity helps us to learn more about other cultures.
8) Superstitious beliefs These came about due to the ancient stories of our grandparents. It
usually isnt true and yet we tend to believe in them (eg: aswang, dwende, tikbalang)
9) Ornaments Females usually wear jewelry while the male usually wear tattoos.
10) Education Children were taught by their parents.
