KINGERY, J. T.

On listed date and time detectives with the drug task force were doing routine
parcel inspections at local distributions facility. Our attention was directed to a
package by employees. Detectives could smell the odor of marijuana emitting
from the package. A k9 alerted on the package and officers obtained a search
warrant. Once the package was opened up, officers found it to contain a tub of
thick unknown substance, with a tin of popcorn. All test was inconclusive and one
was for fructose syrup. The marijuana odor still lingers on the package. DEA was
contacted and made aware of the circumstances. The State Police will continue the
investigation by doing a knock and talk at the receivers residence. The package
looked to have been opened more than once prior to officers interdicting it which
leads us to believe package was interdicted by another agency prior to arriving in
Evansville distributions center.

Battery-simple
Assault Other [am] 11/22/2016. Reported: 11/23/2016.

NEIGHBORS, K. R.

Dispatched to 2020 S. Green River Rd in reference to a Battery Report. Across the

street from this location, Dispatch advised to meet the listed victim, B. Wright.
Wright stated earlier he was pulling on to the lot of Casey`s Convenient Store, and
a vehicle that was exiting the location, swerved toward him, causing him to almost
hit the curb. Wright stated this must have made the clerk angry, because when he
entered the store, the clerk advised him he needed to "slow it down a little " when
entering the lot. Wright stated they began exchanging words back and forth, then
the clerk screamed at him to leave the store. Wright advised him he was not
leaving. Wright stated the clerk got up into his face and began yelling for him to
leave, and then chest bumped him. Wright stated while they continued to argue, a
female clerk walked over and began yelling at him also. Wright stated he then
walked out of the store, and the female walked out behind him yelling obscenities
toward him. Wright stated he got into his vehicle and called 911. Wright did not
have a complaint of pain or any visible injuries from the chest bump.
After speaking with Wright, I drove over to speak with the clerk, identified as B.
Vire. Vire stated he did make a suggestion for Wright to slow down, and Wright
immediately began yelling at him and telling him " Youre not a drivers instructor,
so don`t tell me how to drive". Vire stated he became angry due to the way Wright
was speaking to him, so he told him to leave. Vire stated they began to argue, and
during the argument the female clerk, identified as L. Sanderfur, came over and
also told Wright to leave. Vire stated Wright began arguing with her, and while
arguing with her, Wright put his arm into Vire`s chest multiple times. Vire stated
Wright was doing this as he explained to Sanderfur that he was not going to let
Vire talk to him like that. Vire stated Sanderfur opened the entrance door and
advised for Wright to leave and Wright eventually left.
Vire did not want to file charges but felt it was necessary due to Wright filing on
him. Sandeefur did not have a complaint of pain, or any bruising.
Last, I spoke with the witness, L. Sanderfur. Sanderfur stated she overheard
Wright and Vire arguing so she waked over to see if he needed help. Sanderfur
stated as she was telling Wright to leave she noticed Wright put his arm up to
Vire`s neck multiple times as he was explaining to her how he was not going to be
disrespected by Vire. Sandefur stated she did get into a heated argument with
Wright, and Wright eventually left. Sanderfur stated she did not see Vire chest
bump Wright , and to her it seemed Wright was the aggressor throughout the
argument.
I gave all involved parties a case number, and advised they would need to file
charges through the prosecutor`s office.

Reported: 11/23/2016.

EPMEIER, A. G.

Officers were dispatched to 2200 block of Culverson Ave in reference to a family

dispute. Upon arrival, the wife stated she and her husband got into an argument
after he woke up from a nap in which he had a nightmare about a large snake
opening its mouth and coming toward him. She also mentioned that the couple
just came from court today after she "dropped" previous domestic battery charges
against him. During the argument after his nap today, the wife stated her husband
told her to pack up "her shit" and leave. She also said her husband grabbed a hold
of her arms and wrists as she was walking away from him. The wife stated she
exited the trailer, but in the process, knocked over the rocking chair that was in
front of the door and it broke. She stated her husband fell on the broken part of the
chair and cut his finger. Once outside, the wife went inside the house (which is a
separate dwelling on the same property) at this address belonging to her
mother-in-law. Her husband followed her inside the house and started arguing with
her again. At one point during the argument, while in the kitchen, she stated her
husband pushed her up against the stove. The mother-in-law stated she told him he
wasn`t going to hurt his wife, to which he responded by grabbing a pot off the
stove and told them he would kill them. The wife stated her husband then laid
down on the floor saying he needed some nitro pills. She stated her husband then
took her phone and started recording their conversation. The women phoned for
police before the male left the house, taking the wife`s cell phone and all the house
phones.
Officers then made contact with the husband in the trailer. He refused to open the
door at first stating he didn`t do anything wrong. Once officers were able to get
him to open the door, he stated that his wife broke the chair and battered him with
it, showing officers the scratches on his hands. He then stated that he went over to
the house to continue the conversation. The husband stated while inside, his wife
grabbed a skillet and threatened to kill him. He stated he recorded part of the
conversation on his wife`s phone and then took it since he pays for it.
Upon asking the involved parties what they wished to happen for the evening, both
the mother and wife said they did not want the husband to go to jail. The male
also said he had no desire to press charges. The husband was reluctant to hand
over the wife`s phone, stating she would erase the recording. He was advised the
ownership of the phone was civil in nature, but that he could always take that line
off of the phone bill if he so chose. Officers pulled up the voice recording which
did not have anything saved on it. Officers gave the phone back to the wife.
Officers transported the wife to meet family at a nearby gas station to get her
away from the situation for the night.
