1 Timothy 4:13 (KJV) Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to
doctrine. Reasons to Abound in our Church Attendance: 1. Biblical example: Some church have thousands of members. (Acts 2:41-42; 4:4) 2. Desire or perish (Prov. 29:18): The danger of attendance goals The problem having no attendance goals When we lose the desire to abound, we begin to perish. 3. Past and Present vs. Future: Never be limited by your past and present (Job 8:7) Testimony: 15 years ago, when I started to teach music at NTBC, I had to deal with the following: o one male singer, and all ladies o several monotones o no note readers o weak, shy voices o absenteeism o lack of music materials o lack of musical instruments and equipment Over these years, our choir have volunteered or have been invited all over the country Panay, Guimaras, Negros, Capiz, Aklan, Manila, Davao, etc. I never allowed the past or the current limitations to hinder the vision of training this shy, off-key singers to minister through music. 4. Population and Attendance: The population of your locality compared to your churchs attendance every Sunday is an eye-opener. a. Our field is Brgy. Trapiche, Oton, Iloilo. Population: over 5,000 b. Our attendance every Sunday is less than a 100; that is less than 2% of the population c. Using the tithe ratio, we have at least 500 in church attendance. d. Using the 20-80 rule, we should have more than 1000 attendance in church. e. Using the 25% principle as illustrated in Matthew 13:4-8, we must have 1250 people attending church every Sunday. f. Our over-all assignment is the world (2 Cor. 5:18-20) 5. Why not fill the church building with true worshippers (Luk 14:23). Our current building capacity is 200; to populate it to the full, we need to send invitations to about 1000 people. 6. More souls can be won to Christ. 7. More workers can labor for God. 8. More full-time ministers of the gospel can be sent. 9. More prayer groups can be created. 10.More crowd can be attracted by a crowd of believers. 11.More income can be used for the work of God. (Acts 4:34-35) 12.More ministries dealing with special needs will be created. (Psalm 41:1,2)
13.More potential life partners resulting to marriages could happen.
14.More contacts and connections for Christian employers and employees. Gal. 6:10 15.More integrity (full proof) for your ministry (2 Tim. 4:5)
