Moment carrying capacity along Z-Axis

The member is not laterally supported. Thus, LAT = 0.0
For Major-Axis

(As per Section 8.2.2)

Check for Lateral Torsional Buckling

tf /tw = 1.667
Modulus of Rigidity = G = 78846.1 mm3
Torsional Constant = It = 232000 mm4
Warping Constant = Iw = 1.12E+11 mm6
Effective Length for lateral torsional buckling = LX = KX*L = 0.9*5000 = 4500 mm
Elastic lateral buckling moment (As per Section 8.2.2.1) = Mcr = 112546342.8 N.mm
b = 0.859
(As per Section 8.2.2)
lt = 0.21
(As per Section 8.2.2)
Non-dimensional slenderness ratio = lt = 1.127 < SQRT (1.2*Zez*FYLD/Mcr) = 1.23
Hence, lt =1.127
lt = 1.23
lt = 0.578 < 1.0

Design moment for Lateral Torsional Buckling = Mdz = 75.1 kN.m

Ratio = 0.531 < 1.0
For Minor-Axis:
(As per Section 8.2.1.2)
Critical Ratio for Shear = 1000/354283 = 0.003 < 0.6
The deflection pattern is of simply supported type and Bending Class is Semi-Compact.
Thus, CAN = 0.0, and b = 0.471
Mdy1 = 1.343E+07 Nmm < 1.2*Zey*FYLD/mo = 1.61E+07 N.mm
Design bending strength = Mdy = 13.43 kN.m
Ratio = 0.372 < 1.0

Interaction Check:
Check for Section Strength to the combined effects of loading (As per Section 9.3.1)
Axial strength = Nd = 1219545.455 N
n = 1.12E-02 < 0.2
Thus, Mndy = 13430458.33 N.mm
Mndz(1) = 8.24E+07 N.mm > Mdz
Thus, Mndz = 75074791 N.mm
Since the section is a Channel-section, as per table 17, Clause 9.3.1.1
1' = 5.58E-02 < 1
Thus, 1 = 1 and 2 = 2
Interaction Ratio (For Semi-Compact Section) = 0.915 < 1.0
The section is safe against the Combined Axial Compression and Bending
Check for Overall Member Strength to the combined effects of loading
Check for Bending and axial compression (As per Section 9.3.2.2)
Slenderness ratio of the member about Y axis = y = 176.51
Slenderness ratio of the member about Z axis = z = 36.61
LT = 1.127
ny = 5.55E-02
nz = 0.0126
Ky,1 = 1.08E+01 > 1+0.8ny = 1.044
Thus, Ky = 1.044
Kz,1 = 1.46E+00 > 1+0.8nz = 1.01
Kz = 1.01
KLT,1 = 0.989 > 1

.
 .

KLT = 0.989
Equivalent Uniform Moment Factor for Lateral Torsional Buckling = CMX = 0.8
