people on their favourite bands and whats going on in their careers/what
their plans are. It also includes an exposure section where the public
decide who their new favourite band is. They also have a reviews
section where journalists review bands new albums or songs, etc. They
also include a features section which usually includes interviews with
bands that feature on this article and maybe includes recent news from
the industry.

MOJO is priced at 4.60. They include
around 70-90 pages each issue, which
they produce monthly. Unlike Rock
Sound, MOJOs audience is made up
of more older aged people as the mean
age of their magazine readers is 43.
They cover a range of music genres
from classic and modern rock to
electronic and reggae. They have a
readership of around 220,000 people.
The magazine also has a popular
following on social media with 18,000
e-mail subscribers and 49,600 twitter
followers. They include special editions
such as an issue which included a 12inch vinyl tribute to the beatles, where
they only printed 10,000 copies. In
MOJOs regulars they include a section where people send in letters to
the magazine which is called Theories, Rants, etc. and they also have
an Ask Fred section. They have a MOJO Filter on their contents page
which includes sections such as Albums, Playlists, Reissues, Books,
DVD and Lives. This magazine focuses more on the classic side of this
genre instead of the new side with up and coming bands, new genres,
etc. This is mainly aimed at older people as the bands included in the
magazine are more likely to be listened to by older people.

Q claims to be the UKs biggest
music magazine with a readership
of 473,000 and a circulation of
88,420 people. The median age of
Q readers is 29 years old with 75%
of readers being male and 25%
being female. Qs audience is
younger and more affluent than
any other monthly music
magazine. Obviously, they print
their issues monthly and usually
have an issue size of 100-200
pages which is very varied. The
selling price of Q is 3.99 which is
an average price for a magazine in
this genre of music. They say that
97% of readers rate Q as a quality
magazine. Gorillaz featured on
their first non-photographed cover and in January they included a
section called artists of the century this starred people from Sir Paul
McCartney to Dave Grohl to Amy Whinehouse. They have regular
sections in the magazine such as Q Mail where readers e-mail the
magazine, New to Q which includes up and coming bands, cash for
questions and also subscriptions and crosswords.
