Section 'D' contain one value based question of four marks.
Section 'E' contains three questions of five marks each.

4.

There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided, one question of two
marks, one question of three marks and all three questions of five marks. You have to attempt only
one of the choices in such question.

12. Define absolute error, relative error and percentage error then calculate all these three in this
following case:- Students measure the period of oscillation of a simple pendulum. In successive
measurements, the readings turn out to be 2.63 s, 2.56 s, 2.42 s, 2.71s and 2.80 s.
13. Derive equation of motion with constant acceleration with graphical method.
14. Write a short note on relative velocity of two objects. Draw the velocity time graph for two objects
with unequal velocities showing the time of meeting. Two parallel rail tracks run north-south. Train
A moves north with a speed of 54 km h1, and train B moves south with a speed of 90 km h 1. What
is the (a) velocity of B with respect to A ?, (b) velocity of ground with respect to B ?, and (c)
velocity of a monkey running on the roof of the train A against its motion (with a velocity of 18 km
h-1 with respect to the train A) as observed by a man standing on the ground ?

15. The position of a particle is given below where t is in seconds and the coefficients have the proper
units for r to be in metres.(a) Find v(t) and a(t) of the particle. (b) Find the magnitude and direction

16. What do you mean by centripetal acceleration derive expression for it.
17. State newtons 2nd Law of motion and derive expression for force. Calculate the average resistive
force exerted by the block on the bullet when A bullet of mass 0.04 kg moving with a speed of 90 m
s-1 enters a heavy wooden block and is stopped after a distance of 60 cm.
18. What is banking of a road. Derive expression for maximum possible speed on banked road.
19. A woman pushes a trunk on a railway platform which has a rough surface. She applies a force of
100 N over a distance of 10 m. Thereafter, she gets progressively tired and her applied force
reduces linearly with distance to 50 N. The total distance through which the trunk has been moved
is 20 m. Plot the force applied by the woman and the frictional force, which is 50 N versus
displacement. Calculate the work done by the two forces over 20 m.
20. What are elastic and inelastic collisions. Derive expression for speed of bodies after elastic
collision in one dimension.
21. What is escape velocity derive expression for it. Calculate its approximate value for surface of
earth.
22. Derive the expressions for variation in value of g with height and depth from the surface of
earth.

Section- D
23. Suraj went to Big Bazaar to purchase certain goods .There he noticed an old lady struggling with
her shopping. Immediately he showed her the lift and explained to her how it carries the load from
one floor to the next. Even then the Old lady was not convinced.
Then Suraj took her in the lift and showed her how to operate it. That old lady was very happy.
a). What values does Suraj possess?
