On 8 November 2016, Americans casted their vote and chose Donald Trump as their new leader for the

next four years following President Barack Obama. The current President will step down after eight years
in office. The victory of Donald Trump from the Republican Party came as a shock to many.
Trump though has a little experience but his commercial background can work wonders for the country.
After handling diversified business of property development, casinos, hotels, investment, and also TV
shows, Trump became the political tycoon of the country.
The neck to neck competition between Donald Trump of Republican Party and Hillary Clinton of the
Democrats was cleared when Trump surged past the recruited 270 votes needed to win.
There is an atmosphere of skepticism on how Trumps coming to power can affect the South Asian
countries. The ever vying relations with China; the diplomatic and bombed relations with Japan; unlike
the healthy Mexican food, the ties are loose; the sweet and sour Indian bond are the major possibilities.
Donald Trumps victory in the US presidential elections will have implications for the whole global
economy.
America is the first country that influences the world economy. And thus all countries to which the US
has a negative trade balance will be scrutinized. Firstly China will be a currency manipulator for US. And
thus this can benefit America, which will legally put tariffs on everything from China. Also if the
manufacturing units are made in America, it can restart the US economy. Trump has repeatedly threatened
a trade and currency war with China and his words are very clear. But still a poll by the South China
Morning Post revealed that 39% of the respondents favored Trump a higher percentage than in other
Asian countries, where Trump only scored around 13%.
For Mexico, the nightmare came true. The president-elect campaigned on a pledge to force Mexico to
renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement, to provide greater benefits to U.S. businesses. For
many Mexicans, the election of Donald J. Trump is a harbinger for the Mexicans to be ready for
devastating effects. The US Chamber of Commerce reveals that more than 80% of Mexico's exports come
to the US, and some 6 million US jobs depend on trade with Mexico. US-Mexico trade is worth about a
half-trillion dollars annually, which gives Mexico a large surplus. Trump has suggested putting a 35% tax
on automobiles and auto parts shipped into the US by American companies that relocate to Mexico. The
Mexican Currency Peso has seen great fluctuation throughout the US Presidency campaign.
Also Trump is set to bring his real estate business to politically secure US border by building a wall on
the Southern border and wanted Mexico to pay for it.
Donald Trump has been reiterating at rallies: They are taking our jobs. China is taking our jobs. Japan is
taking our jobs. India is taking our jobs. It is not going to happen anymore, folks! Well, India has always
had a subtle relation with US. But these speeches have brought in a sense of tension amidst the Indians
residing in US.
Trump has earmarked India as one of the countries in Asia he plans to expand his own businesses, has
even talked openly of investment. Trump has in place licensing agreements with partners in India for
high-end residential apartment buildings in Mumbai and Pune, which house Bollywood celebrities,
among others. It includes a 75-story building in mid-town Mumbai by the Lodha Group owned by
billionaire Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and two, adjacent 23-story Trump Towers in Pune, in Kalyani Nagar,
built in partnership with Panchshil Realty, founded and run by the brothers Atul and Sagar Chordia.
Apartments in the Pune project are around $2.5 million.

NATO and Japan, South Korea will have to pay for US service with military service. Money will be
flooding in and put to work. American stock markets and the dollar will benefit.
Hillary winning is bad, but Trump winning is very bad- This was how Brazilians saw the possible
results of the US elections. Though there might not be a direct effect of Trumps win on Brazil, but the
new Brazilian government agrees that the relation will probably grow more distant if Trump maintains the
radicalism promised during his campaign could have a negative and immediate effect on Brazil and
complicate Brazilian economic recovery. By radically positioning himself with racist, misogynistic, and
xenophobic speeches, Trump has brought in an image of Hitler all around the world.
Though Donald Trump and his speeches have been scrutinized and prejudiced, what actually is to happen
will be seen from January 2017, when he will take the charge of the office.
