Engagement assessment is comprised of several overlapping markets, all using the word
engagement in confusingly similar ways. Despite significant recent innovations in both data
collection methods and output analytics, two important questions for organizations to answer are
likely not related to surveys or other means of data capture, but are instead: Why assess? and How
will the data be used? While you may have more than one stop on your journey, starting with these
fundamental questions should help to identify which line to take to reach your next destination.
