So what is AVID?

AVID stands for Achievement Via

Individual Determination

The is an elective course offered in

all of the Jr High schools and High
Schools throughout the Boise
School District

In AVID, we are preparing for our

future college career. We will work
hand in hand with college students,
tour university campuses, and
even create our own personalized
10 year plans.
AVID is a nationally recognized
program and has many
requirements that are to be met.
This is because we take our
program extremely serious, and
want all of our students to do the
same.

What do I get out of it?

This graph shows

the percentage of
AVID students
that go onto
college after
applying their
learned skills to
their life.

85% of AVID
students return to
college after their
first year, while
nationally, nonAVID students are
only sitting at about
78%.
