Job Description is detail regarding task, duties and responsibilities related to a job.
Job Specification is detail of knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform a
job.
Job enrichment is redesigning a job in vertical way by giving more responsibilities
and authority.
i.e. AO to SAO
Job enlargement is redesigning a job in horizontal way by assigning more tasks
and duties alongwith existing job.
i.e. AO alongwith procurement assignments
Cognitive Dissonance the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or
attitudes, especially as relating to behavioural decisions and attitude change.
Job Rotation is practice of moving employees between different tasks to promote

Absolute Rating is method of appraisal in which rater rates or assigns absolute
value against different indicators of employee performance.
