-Talk to students about how the weather is starting to get cooler and the
weather is changing.
-Watch an introductory video on winter.
What the teacher will do:
-Teacher will review the smart board lesson discussing the various things that take
place in the winter.
-Teacher will question students throughout the lesson to confirm understanding.
-After the lesson, students will complete one of the following activities:
1. Make a snowman out of paper plates.
2. Dress a paper doll in winter clothes.
3. Create a tactile mug of hot cocoa.
4. Make your own snowflake.
-Teacher will assess students knowledge of key vocabulary.
What the teacher assistants will do:
-Prompt student responses during the lesson.
-Assist students with completing one of the activities.
-Assess students knowledge of key vocabulary.

Assessment/Check for Understanding:


-Students will be assessed on knowledge of key vocabulary and participation in
relevant activities.
Closure/Summary:
-Teacher will review key vocabulary as an entire class and give examples of how
they are used on a daily basis.
