What different subjects are taught?
- The kindergarten located in Ajman, the students are girls and boys, the size of the
kindergarten are good for the number of students who are studying there. They have
several subjects such as Arabic, Math, English and Science.

What did you enjoy most about your practicum?


- The most thing I really enjoyed is when I play with the students and have a long
chat with them.

What challenges did you face?


- the challenges that I faced was how to deal with their attitude on the classroom
while im teaching them a lesson.

4. What did you do to show your commitment to your job as a teacher in the
school?
- I helped the teacher in organizing her materials before starting the lesson and I
helped the students if they have any questions.

How did you collaborate with your MST and other teachers in the school?
- I did some paperwork for the MOST and I would help her with any admin related
work or organizing the children entrance or exit and any other assistance needed during
the class.

Describe a typical day in your school.


- when students arrived the school, they start with morning assembly, after that they
go to the classroom to start their lesson, first thing they do it that they do the morning
routine such as taking attendance and choosing the helper hands to count the students.
After that, they start their lesson, after the lesson they go to the dining room to eat their
food. Then, they go to playground then they come back to the class, they teach several
lesson then they go back to home.

Talk about the process of planning for lessons. How did your MST go
about this? How did you plan to ensure you worked within the curriculum?

- Most of the planning from the MSTs side was done at home before coming to
school, she would come in in the morning and brief me on what the lesson plan was for
the day and I would ensure that I would assist her in implementing it.

What did you learn about planning during the practicum?


- I learned that doing a plan before teaching a lesson will help to organize the ideas
on my mind to know how to teach them and how I will teach them in a good way.

What challenges did you face when preparing your lesson plans?
- I didnt find it difficult, I find it easy.

Explain how you planned for teaching speaking and listening.


- I planned for speaking by let them come to the whiteboard and repeat the words
that on the board. And I planned for listening by showing them a video. And I planned for
teaching by let them learn how to write and read.

What strategies did you use to manage the children?


- The strategies that I used is keep students involved and build a positive
relationship between us.

12. Which were the most effective strategies you observed your MST using in
the classroom?
- The strategies that she use it and it was the most effective way is keep students
involved.
13. Describe a lesson you taught and the way in which you implemented the
lesson class work, group work, and individual work. How successful was this
for you?
- I teached letter N, Overall the lesson was successful and the students learned how
to write letter N and they know the sound of the letter. They did well in the classwork and
groups.

14. Explain the stages and how you taught listening and speaking as an
integrated process.
- First of all, I tried to always engage them in conversations to ensure that they are
learning how to communicate well. We would also make them listen and watch stories
and videos and stop the video to ask them to explain something they just saw. This

ensured that they are paying attention and being able to listen then explain in their own
words.

- Keep students involved.

speaking/listening activities?
- The speaking and listening are the most significant part on the circle area. So, the
I have to keep their attention on me and let them feel enthusiastic.

- I always showed up on time, I made sure that all my paperwork is correct and I
made sure my attention to detail was always good.
18. Why do you think its important to be well organized when in the school?
- First of all, you are setting an example for the students, when you are organized
you avoid missing important things and you make sure you finish all your tasks every
day.

No - what steps can you take to improve in this area?

Yes, in writing what I will use and how I will teach the students.

20. What has been your most powerful learning throughout the practicum?
- I learned a lot about how to deal with children, internat them and teaching them at
the same time.
21. What was the most helpful feedback you received during the placement?
- Thankfully, I always received positive feedback from all the teachers that I
worked with, they always guided me through my day and gave me direction when
needed.

- I didnt find it difficult, I find it easy.

you are well prepared for TP?
- How to deal with students and teachers, how to let the students and teacher feel
comfortable with me and what the thing that I have to do it when I will be there.

27. Choose one task that you found interesting and tell about it. What did you
learn from doing this task?
- I taught the students a lesson on the number 6 and integrated many different
teaching methods in order to teach them about the number six, such as using it in a story,
counting items that are 6 and writing the number 6. I learnt that repetition is very
important and using different methods ensures that all students learn, as some learn from
repetition, some are more visual and some learn from listening and imagining.

28. What changes would you make to the observation tasks?


- I wouldn't change anything in it.

29. Refer to one artefact / other task / journal you found interesting and tell
about it.
- I generally found writing to be very interesting. The students brought their
notebooks and asked me to help them learn how to write the alphabets and I personally
found that very interesting. I liked it when they were excited about learning how to write
on their own and would feel so proud of themselves.
