3.1 The student will sing a repertoire of songs in tune with a clear tone
quality. 1. Sing melodies within the range of an octave.
3.2 The student will notate and perform rhythmic patterns that include
sixteenth notes, single eighth notes, paired eighth notes, quarter notes,
quarter rests, half notes, dotted half notes, and whole notes, using body
percussion, melodic percussion instruments, or non-pitched percussion
instruments.
3.4 The student will respond to music with movement. 1. Perform line and
circle dances. 2. Perform dances and games from various cultures
Main Goals:

Recorder work
T reviews procedure of how to get recorders as recorder captains,
has one recorder captain model the desired behavior, and does the same
with the other three sections. Once students receive recorders, have them
put in rest position
T reviews the necessary force of air needed to play recorder, goes
around the room and has students blow on hand as if on a sleeping baby to
practice correct playing. Has students repeat until desired level of air
pressure.
T reviews the rule of finger placement
C fingers and sings Hot cross buns using letter names
T reviews force of air rule and plays one note at a time, teacher
walking around checking for understanding.
T has students play hot cross buns on recorder.
T reviews procedure for putting away recorders, teacher asks one
recorder captain to be a student model while teacher narrates their desired
behavior. Do the same process with the rest of the captains from each
section.
