Considerations over Sherry Turkles
Always On

As 2017 approaches many people are immersed in two separate worlds while occupying
only one place. As Sherry phrases the change we are all cyborgs now, she wants us to develop
an awareness for this novel future. She is not against the changes of tomorrow, but asks that we
draw inward on what we look to gain from mobile apps and text messages. Devices are a best
friend and may now be part of the self. Friends including Siri utilize a microchip to bring
rewards. When there is an argument, it will never be too busy. Sherry elaborates that phones are
an outlet that may tempt us to only attend with isolated fragments of data. It is a battle of picking
and choosing, a fight to be heard, an escape, and a preconditioned togetherness.
