This article is about how Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland wants true
justice and believes others should be charged in the death of her daughter. Texas state
trooper Brian Encinia initially pulled Sandra Bland over for allegedly failing to use her
turn signal. The situation then escalated. During the stop, Bland became "argumentative
and uncooperative," according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The trooper
threatened the victim with a Taser and said: "I will light you up" and used forceful use.
This article is an important aspect because it shows police brutality against an
African American.

This article is about how if it werent for video and social media, we would not
know about many instances of Police brutality specifically to African American. The
criminal justice system needs to do better to ensure equal protection of the laws. 32% of
African Americans that are killed are unarmed the majority of times compared to 15% for
White victims.
This article is an important contribution to Black Lives Matter. It shows police
brutality against an African American.

This article is about what happened the night of Trayvon Martin. After leaving a
local 7-Eleven, Trayvon Martin headed back to the home of his fathers fiance in
Sanford Florida. On his walk back, Travon is approached by George Zimmerman, who
was a neighborhood watch volunteer. George thought Trayvon looked suspicious and
hadnt recognized him as a resident from the neighborhood. A fight broke out after words
were exchanged between George and Tavon. Several minutes later, Trayvon lay dead of a
gunshot from Zimmermans 9mm semiautomatic handgun.
This article is an important contribution to Black Lives Matter. It shows police
brutality against an African American and how they are taking innocent lives.

This article is about the story of Michael Browns shooting differs


depending on who is telling the story. Dorian Johnson (Browns good friend who
was with him that day) claim that Michael was surrendering to police when the
officer opened fire. The polices side of the story claims that Brown attacked the
officer in his car and tried to take the officers gun. Dorian disputes the claim by
the officer that it was self-defense. By his account, he and Michael were
innocently walking in the middle of the street when they were approached by a
police officer. Johnson and the mostly black community claim that Brown was
murdered in cold blood.
This article is an important contribution to Black Lives Matter. It shows
police brutality against an African American.

This article is about Ferguson police reform. The fatal police shooting of an
unarmed African American teen in 2014, sparked riots and a national scrutiny of police
practices. Local government officials have agreed to implement reforms set forth by the
US Department of Justice. Ferguson law enforcement efforts are focused on generating
revenue even if it means violating the law and undermining the community trust,
especially among African Americans.

signifies how certain laws need to change because Police are getting away with
taking innocent lives.
