situation and wanted to fight to keep all families together. In Enriques Journey (by Sonia
Nazario), Enrique was a child whose mother left him and his sister to find better opportunities in
United States. She understands, as only a mother can, the terror she is about to inflict, the ache
Enrique will feel, and finally the emptiness writes Sonia. She knows that America is the place
that will give her more of a chance to earn money. The author emphasizes the ache she feels
towards leaving her family, and how her son will feel her absence and loss. On both sides of the
border the family is being torn apart. Donald Trump will encourage this, and keep these people
from being able to support their family in a country that is free. If Trump doesnt care about the
damage he will cause families, what makes you think that he would care about anyone elses
rights.
Equal rights was another important topic to this election, but it only seemed to matter to
Hillary. On October 3rd, 2015 Hillary was recorded saying,There are still too many places
where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans are targeted for harassment and
violence. There are still too many young people out there feeling hopeless and alone. This is
from the heart and sparked a large following for Hillary in the LGBT community. Unlike Trump
when back in 2005, he said, I think the institution of marriage should only be between a man
and a woman, LGBT wouldnt support Trump even if he said it 10 years ago. Now combine that
and all of the racy comments hes made towards various groups during his campaign. When
Donald trump said that, he must have not known that LGBT cares a great deal about their ability
to attain equal rights, and how much effort is put in. If Donald Trump desires to infringe on the
rights of LGBT and immigrants, then who else is he against? With Trump not being aware of
what he says, that shows he may not have the experience necessary to be president. In addition,

there is such a thing as being Presidential which means one has to be careful with words and
be able to handle pressure and situations. Could you really describe Trump as Presidential?
During the election we had the opportunity to learn more about our candidates, their
thoughts on current issues, and their overall personality. The first thing I learned was that Hillary
was more experienced than Trump. Besides Hillary once being the First lady, she has always had
a desire in assisting people. Since the 1970s, Hillary Clinton attended law school in hope that she
would learn from it, and be able to help families and children. She even took classes at Yale on
childrens study and care. Donald Trump at that time was being sued for underpaying his foreign
workers and discrimination towards African Americans and Latinos. From 1993-2001 she was
the first lady of the United States, and then proceeded to become a US Senator for another 8
years. She is more than qualified to be a potential presidential candidate, especially if shes
running against Donald Trump.
In conclusion, I am with Hillary. She will fight for everyones rights and make things
better for those who needed the help. Being a woman from a latino background, I am offended
and disappointed by the way Trump demotes against us. Words that describe him include
ignorance, narcissism. I dont want someone like that as President. Someone who makes you
afraid, and makes you either want to move out of this country or be scared that youll be sent
back and your family will be torn apart. Since the campaign of Trump, he has influenced people
with racism and sexism. In one of his campaign rallies Trump stated, When Mexico sends its
people, theyre not sending the best. Theyre not sending you, theyre sending people that have
lots of problems and theyre bringing those problems with us. He goes on to call them rapists,
thieves, and accuses them of bringing drugs. Because of his rants about Mexicans, African-

Americans and Muslims, those who may have prejudices against these people are starting to
come out. The world sees this election as a joke, but most in the USA are wondering what are
we going to do?. Donald Trump is President and all thats left is positivity. The popular vote
shouldve won and thus Hillary. Our country needs to band together in this time and hope that
the next election in 2020 is better, and furthermore that the people of the USA can hold this
country together.

Comments
For this essay, my tutor commented on my thesis. She didnt understand where the thesis
or the point of my essay was. She broke down the paragraphs, and explained how to organize
them and know what each of them would be about. She also commented on how my paragraphs
were too long, and how it wouldve been better if I had split them into a new paragraph. That
was a mistake throughout the whole essay. Another mistake was that my quotes were too long,
and that can potentially decrease the interest of the reader. My tutor also pointed out how a few
sentences were vague, and she didnt really understand what I meant. An important remark she
also made was how I seemed to struggle with my quote sandwiches, and advised I looked back at
notes or use Purdue Owl.
