The Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society

Announces a Special Issue of the ACES Express Journal on:

Integral Equation Methods

Guest Editor: Dr. Ulrich Jakobus

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: December 1, 2016
The Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society is announcing the new
Special Issue of the ACES Express Journal dedicated to the topic of Integral
Equation Methods.
Since the original publication by Harrington, the Method of Moments (MoM) has
been a very popular technique in computational electromagnetics to deal in
particular with open radiation and scattering problems for bodies of arbitrary
shape based on the integral equation formulation of Maxwells equations. Surface
and volume integral equations formulations exist and are enhanced by special
Greens function techniques (e.g. for planar multilayer substrates). Higher order
schemes in connection with curvilinear meshes aim at improved solution accuracy,
while fast solvers or hybrid methods aim at reducing the memory and run-time
requirements.
The goal of this Special Issue is to bring the most recent results of scientific
research in applied electromagnetics to the Readers attention.
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit papers that relate to the abovementioned issues. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Integral equation formulations and theoretical foundations
Higher order schemes and singularity extractions
Fast solution methods (MLFMA, ACA, CBFM, )
Application of High Performance Computing (parallelization aspects, GPU
computing, )
Domain decomposition involving MoM
Hybrid methods combining MoM with other computational techniques
Solution of inverse problems with integral equations
Treatment of special materials (anisotropic, metamaterials)
Error estimations for MoM
Characteristic mode analysis (CMA) based on the MoM matrix
Practical applications of integral equation solutions

Potential contributors wishing to discuss the suitability of their contribution may

contact the Guest Editor Dr. Ulrich Jakobus by e-mail at: jakobus@altair.com.
For submissions to the special issue, please upload your manuscript to the ACES
server at http://aces-society.org by using the upload button, Express Journal,
upload a new paper, and selecting Special issue on Time Domain Methods
The contribution must be limited to 4 pages. Author Instructions can be found at
http://www.aces-society.org/express_journal_template.php. The review process
will begin as the editor finds your paper(s) on the ACES web site. Email or paper
submission is not accepted. The mandatory publishing fee is $200 for ACES
members and $300 for Non-Members. Payment of publication charge should be
completed on line in order to proceed with publication.
