2. What is Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA)?
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) is an award to raise awareness of
quality management and recognize U.S. companies that have implemented successful
quality management systems. This award is presented annually by the President of the
United States for the organizations demonstrating quality and performance excellence.

There are two-part processes for entering the Baldrige Award contest.
Step 1: Submit an Eligibility Certification Package This step is done to certify the
organizations eligibility in one of the six award categories: manufacturing, service, small
business, education, health care, or nonprofit.
Step 2: Submit an Award Application Package This part in includes 25 copies of the
application and a CD containing a PDF file of the application.
