PowerCenter provides the industrys best data management environment, for

Data Lineage rendering in Metadata Manager is now up to 50X faster due to the use of

a graph database. Data lineage provides an end-to-end view of the flow of data as it is
moved and transformed throughout the organization. Catalog performance has also been
improved up to 50X.
Business Glossary has new approval workflows and voting. This and other user interface

improvements are big productivity enhancements for data stewards and others who are
looking to manage business terms, meaning, and context.
PowerCenter Standard Edition: Now includes 100 additional free Analyst tool seats,

partitioning, and free connectors for relational, batch, and ODBC. This improves the
performance and connectivity of Standard Edition while enabling greater business-IT
collaboration using role-appropriate tools.
PowerCenter Enterprise Edition: Now includes the Real Time engine for real time data

updates using JMS messaging. This provides the option of faster, more frequent, data
updates in addition to batch data updates.
PowerCenter Premium Edition: Now includes Advanced Transformation which provides

the ability to manage unstructured and semi-structured data. This provides the ability to
manage and monitor large scale environments that now include new types of data.

Upgrade Assessment and Project Plan
Informatica will perform a current environment assessment and prepare a detailed upgrade
strategy plan to migrate the existing environment to a new environment. This includes:
a pre-installation checklist
ensuring hardware availability
selecting the targeted lifecycle environment for the initial upgrade effort
identifying objects that can be cleaned up
identifying dependent objects that need to be migrated to the new environment
reviewing security, planning for a regression and parallel test

Testing the Upgraded Environment

Based upon the initial upgrade and the review of the upgrade log for the upgraded
environment, Informatica will assist in the initial testing effort and specifically test sessions/
workflows and monitor sessions and review logs. Informatica will also assist in testing
the integrated PowerCenter environment and launching sessions/workflows via external
processes, if needed.

Deployment Plan for Production

Informatica will provide our detailed best-practices and low-risk approach to upgrade the
Production environment.
