FORM

A SEMIFINALIST APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Application Deadline: All items must be received by December 27, 2014

The Semifinalist materials present a unique opportunity
to elaborate on the activities and accomplishments
referenced in your initial application. Responses that
reflect careful attention and thoughtful presentation will
enable the review committee to give proper attention to
your candidacy. In turn, we hope the time and effort you
invest in preparing your responses will also help you
learn more about yourself as you prepare for college and
other financial aid opportunities.

As a Semifinalist
You must complete and submit the following forms:
B. Questionnaire;
C. Secondary School Report;
(with official transcript)

Mailing Guidelines
Our deadline increases the chance of holiday mail
impacting the time it takes for your application to reach
our office. Protective measures enacted by mail couriers,
as well as by the mail facilities within The Coca-Cola
Company may also create delays in the routine
processing of all mail.
To ensure prompt receipt of your application, please
complete the candidacy forms and obtain letters of
recommendation as soon as possible. Anyone mailing
near the December 27 deadline may wish to utilize
Priority Mail or a similar expedited delivery service to
ensure materials are received and processed in a timely
fashion.

Notification

D. TWO (2) Personal Recommendation Forms.

Each form has specific instructions related to
content and handling. Please review carefully and
make others who may be assisting you aware of these
instructions. Use the Semifinalist Checklist on the
following page as a means to ensure that your
application is complete when submitted. Incomplete
packages cannot be advanced for Regional Finalist
consideration. Should you need replacement forms,
email us at coca-colascholars@coca-cola.com or
call 1-800-306-2653.

Presentation Guidelines
We ask that all papers be simply stacked inside of the
submission envelope and not inserted into a binder or
plastic sleeves. Do not include any additional materials
such as resumes, CDs, articles, etc. as they will not be
reviewed by the committee. Please do not fold or staple
any part of your application materials.

Letters and emails informing all Semifinalists of their

status will be sent in mid-January 2015. Those selected
as Regional Finalists will then be provided with
information regarding the next phase of the process, the
regional interviews. All Regional Finalists must
participate in a regional interview. Depending upon
the region, interviews will take place on either
February 6-7 or February 13-14.
Regional Finalists who advance as Coca-Cola Scholars
will be notified in mid-February and provided with details
regarding the Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend, which will
th
th
be held in Atlanta on April 16 19 , 2015. All
Scholars must attend Scholars Weekend in Atlanta
to receive a Coca-Cola Scholars Program $20,000

SEMIFINALIST APPLICATION CHECKLIST

It is your responsibility to ensure all necessary forms are received in the Scholars
Foundation office by December 27. Since others will assist you in completing these forms,
we urge you to begin compiling candidacy materials promptly in order to meet the deadline.

Form B, the Semifinalist Questionnaire,

should
be
completed
electronically
by
downloading the document from your notification
email, typing your information directly in the
appropriate form fields, and saving the file to a
disk or on your computer. Once you have
completed, saved, and printed all pages, tape a
wallet-sized head and shoulders photograph to
the top section of page one (photos will not be
returned) and make certain to read and sign the
certification following the short essays.
Form C, the Secondary School Report, should
be printed and given to your high school
guidance counselor or principal to complete.
Your academic record for grades 9-12 must be
provided in the form of a transcript and
submitted with the Secondary School Report.
Be sure to include classes being taken in your
senior year. You and a parent or guardian (if
under the age of 18) must sign this form as well
as a school official. Once completed and printed,
mail Form C with the other forms. If your school
would prefer to mail your transcript to us directly,
we will add it to the rest of your application.
Print both Form D1 and D2 Personal
Recommendation Forms and obtain 2 letters
of recommendation from individuals who can
provide
insight
into
your
personal
characteristics,
abilities,
achievements,
motivation and potential. One of the two
evaluations must be from a teacher, guidance
counselor, or other school official. The second
evaluation should be from someone with whom
you have worked with in your community.
Before you choose your recommenders, read
the Personal Recommendation Form carefully to
help you understand the type of information
required. When you make the request of your
evaluators, be sure they feel comfortable about
completing the form and give them ample time
to return a comprehensive evaluation to you for
submission and receipt in our office by the
December 27 deadline.

Once your recommenders return their completed

evaluations to you, mail them with Form D1 and
D2 and all other forms. If your recommender
would like to mail their evaluation directly to our
office, we will add it to the rest of your
application. Do not submit additional
recommendations as they will not be read.

All materials (Forms B, C with transcript, D1 &

D2 with recommendations) must be received by
our office by December 27, 2014. Whenever
possible we greatly prefer that all materials are
sent together in one package. It is not necessary
for you to submit this Form A Instruction Sheet
or Checklist.

Reminders
Please be concise, yet thorough, when answering all
questions on the Semifinalist application.
If you have questions concerning the materials, contact
us via email at coca-colascholars@coca-cola.com or call
