Media Release: Daniel Alfonsos Vote of No Confidence Scheduled & Another Homicide at Northwest 1 st Avenue/11th Street
On Wednesday, January 11th, the Fraternal Order of Police will commence a vote of no confidence on City Manager, Daniel Alfonso.
It will be held at all three main Miami Police Stations between the hours of 0700 HRS and 1600 HRS. The results will be announced
at the City of Miami Commission meeting the following day.
Coincidentally, the City Manager has put out an employee survey because he is attempting to portray a false image to everyone that
he wants to foster a positive work environment for all employees. The survey can be filled out by the public due to the fact that there
is no authentication of who is completing it. The vote of no confidence on January 11 th will ensure that only Miami Police sworn
members of the Fraternal Order of Police are voting. The Miami Fraternal Order of Police is the exclusive bargaining unit of the
Miami Police Department.
The media has portrayed the termination of three Miami Police Officers as racist cops that made comments about black
neighborhoods. This couldnt be further from the truth. The media has had a field day destroying the credibility of the Miami Police
Department thanks to Daniel Alfonso.
The cops involved aren't racists. It's not a color issue, it's a crime issue. That's why the officers mentioned it. As an example on
January 3nd on NewsRadio 610 WIOD, the commentator portrayed the Miami Police Officers as racists and also used the word
"black" several times, which were never mentioned in the text messages. The messages were compared to an LAPD Police Detective,
Mark Fuhrman who was audiotaped using the N word. Furhman is a racist. The three Miami Police Officers that were fired two
days before Christmas arent. One of them was black and the other has a black grandfather. The remarks made by them were
unprofessional, but didnt warrant termination. As unprofessional the comments made by these three Miami Police Officers may have
offended some, their text messages speak of the violence on the streets that occur all the time at areas such as at Northwest 1st Avenue
and 11th Street (which was characterized in the messages). The MPD will now say that crime is down and that everything is under
control. If you ask the residents, youll get a different perspective.
Two days before Christmas, the Manager sent out a letter justifying terminations under his watch. Daniel Alfonso is using these
terminations and others as a deflection of his poor mismanagement of the Miami Police Department. Under his watch, an
astronomical amount of homicide evidence has been damaged/destroyed. Under the Managers watch, he didnt hand over a criminal
investigation involving MPD staff members taking eleven firearms until the FOP demanded for it to be taken over by the State
Attorneys Office. Under his watch, he allowed the suspect of a criminal investigation to walk out in the middle of the night with City
of Miami Property boxes and covers it up with an email of how he has concerns.
Why doesnt the media ask the Manager why Officer Larry Hagan was fired two years after he served a 40 hour suspension for simple
insubordination? Or, why Officer Jean Phillipe that was fired for "sleeping"? Yet, evidence shows that he was diagnosed by the city
doctor for being a diabetic and was given no assistance and passed out behind the wheel of a police car. Why didnt he fire the three
Miami cops over text messaging six months ago if they are such a danger to the community? We can go on and on.
Another person was killed last night off Northwest 1 st Avenue and 11th Street. Where are the eleven guns that went missing from the
Miami Police Department? Are they on the streets waiting to commit the next homicide? Where is Daniel Alfonsos concerns over
that? Hes too busy putting quotes on his Twitter account about what a great leader he is to realize whats happening.
Sincerely,

Javier Ortiz
