Type of lesson: Systematization and revision of knowledge
Anticipated problems: Ss. may not remember some words, useful to describe places. Not all the
Ss. may have the chance to speak during the conversational exercise.
Lesson aims:
To reinforce the already studied grammatical structures and vocabulary;
To practice them in new context;
To correct the most frequent errors;
To practice their reading and speaking skills;
Materials: textbooks, pictures, worksheets.
Methods: conversation, explanation, example, debate.
Activity 1: Checking homework
Aim: to check the previous knowledge.
Procedure: Ss. read their homework and correct each other when necessary

Activity 2: Warm-up
Aim: to raise the Ss interest in making the revision.
Procedure: T. announces the Ss. that they have finished another chapter in the textbook and that
she wants to help them reinforce their knowledge so that she could see whether there are any
items they havent understood and if they can use them in other contexts.

Activity 3: Fill in the gaps
Aim: to reinforce grammatical structures
Procedure: T. asks the Ss. to complete the gapped sentences with the correct form of the verbs in
brackets using the simple present perfect tense and either since or for, in exercise 3 in the
appendix. T. gives the Ss the opportunity to correct their peers errors.

Activity 4: Have you ever...?


Aim: to reinforce grammatical structures
to give opportunity to speak about personal experiences
Procedure: T. writes some sample questions and answers about personal experience, such as: "
Have you ever ridden a bike?
Yes, I have/No, I haven't.
When did you last ride a bike?
Last week/Two days ago/Three years ago/In 2010, etc."
Then 6 volunteer students stand in two rows in front of the classroom. They will
interview their peers in turn and find out whether they have experienced something, the
questions will be freely chosen. After finding out their answers they will report them to the class
using the simple present perfect, third person, singular.

Activity 5: Describe the photos
Aim: to practice describing places
Procedure: Ss. are shown two photos, one taken in a London street at a rush hour and the other
presenting a countryside landscape. In groups, students are encouraged to identify characteristics
typical to each of the areas, then to come with as many advantages of living in town and in the
countryside as they can.

Activity 6: Assigning homework/ Ts appreciation
Aim: to provide consolidation of language and grammar so far
