Back in the day when Rosa Parks and Dr.

Martin Luther King Jr were alive African

Americans and people of different color, ethnicity, and religion didnt have many Civil Rights.
People of the white race were described as the most dominant race or the race that had the most
rights. Back then there were even water fountains which had labels on them. If the water fountain
said Caucasian and you were African American you couldnt use that fountain you would have
to use the one that said African American. African Americans that took the bus were allowed to
sit in the back and you were allowed to sit in the front as long as no white male or female was
standing. However if a white person, male or female wanted you seat you had to get up and give
it to them. Rosa Parks who was forty two had just gotten off work and she was tired. All the
seats on the bus were filled and a white man wanted her seat Rosa refused to get up the bus
driver insisted she get up and Rosa demanded she was going to stay. The bus driver called the
police and Rosa Parks was arrested over a bus seat.
Once people found out Rosa took such a brave stand and didnt give up her seat people
were amazed. However everyone also knew Rosa Parks had been arrested and even people of
white race thought that the punishment didnt fit the crime. People saw it as discrimination and
an unfair arrest had been made in the eyes of the public. People stood together and the bus
boycott was formed. All across Montgomery people weren't taking the buses anywhere only the
people who agreed that Rosa should have given up her seat that day rode the busses but that was
very little. All the bus drivers who were doing their jobs nearly comes home with any money
because Rosa arrested. This bus boycott eventually made a change. The Supreme Court's banned
segregation on the city's busses and that same day Rosa sat at the front of the bus with no worry
at all. A year before this change Rosa was arrested.
As you can tell these changes never came easy the no segregation on buses took a year to
be even thought of and enforced. All these acts and movements being executed by these people
eventually exploded. The result of the explosion ended with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
assassinated. April 4, 1968 day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was shot by a verified racist where he
wanted to lead a peaceful march in support of striking sanitation workers. He was shot and killed
on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. This white man shot Martin out of
hate because Martin had followers to get equal rights. Rosa parks died October 24, 2005 of
natural causes she was 92. Her being an activist at a young age payed off when she was older and
she actually made changes to the world. What Rosa did that day will never be forgotten and is
one of the bravest things a person has ever done in American history. Today in present time 2016
there are about a handful of racist people in some areas but everything is fair now. Everyone
goes to school together, uses the same water fountains, people are friends with all different types
of people, there are only girls and boys bathrooms, and everyone has equal rights. Today in
America it's fair and now all that Rosa did that day payed off and all different races come
together as one because of one person and one brave act it changed everything forever.
