TheChicagoCenterforArtsandTechnology(CHICAT)providesarts,codinganddigitaleducaonfor
youthandindustryrelevantcareertrainingforadultsineldssuchasHealthcareandadvanced
manufacturingindustriesthatwillcreaterealavenuesoutofpovertyandpromotehopeamongstthose
whoneeditmost.TheCHICATmodelisbuiltonthefundamentalprinciplesthat:1.)Everyhumanbeing
isanassetandeverylifeisvaluable;2.)Environmentshapesbehavior,and;3.)Creavityfuelsenterprise.

SUMMARY:

Undergeneralsupervision,supervisesandperformstheoperaonofheang,venlang,air
condioning,plumbing,masonry,electricalandrelatedfacilies,aswellasthesupervisionofgeneral
maintenancefuncons,atCHICATfacility

DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
EssenalFuncons:

Responsibleforoperationofallheating,ventilating,airconditioning,plumbing,electrical,
refrigerationwithinhis/herworklocationandmaintenanceofsaidareasinorderto
preventprematurefailure.

Maintenanceoftheseandanyothermechanicalequipmentorbuildingfunctionstoensure
compliancewithCity,State,andFederalcode.

Responsibleforandparticipatesinthesafeandeconomicaloperationoftheentirefacility
propertyincodecompliantmanner,maximizingenergyef iciencywhilemaintaining
comfortandalignedwithbuildingLEEDandenergyconservationmeasures.

Supervisesandperformsroutinerepairsthroughoutthefacilityandproperty(i.e.electrical,
Plumbing,Carpentry,Masonry,etc.)

SupporttheCEOandCOObyrespondingtohis/herindividualrequeststhatarise
throughoutthedayforinformation,resolution,andinquirywhenassignedthroughthe
MasterSchedule.

Performannualpreventativemaintenanceplanforresponsiblefacilityincludingspeci ic
scheduleandactiondocumentationmaintainedontheBASsystemandscheduledonthe
MasterSchedule.

Setandgetapprovalforannualpreventativemaintenanceplanforresponsiblefacilities.
Includespeci icscheduleandactiondocumentationmaintainedontheBASsystem.

Meetspeci icannualproductivitygoalsbyexecutionofthefollowing:providecost
avoidancereporting,submissionofnewideastoareamanagement,effective
implementationofapprovedideas,providecostimprovementreportingasacontinuous
trackingtool.

Developanannualfacilitiesmaintenanceplanby12/1ofeachyearconsistentwiththe
formatprovidedbytheCOO.Providequarterlyupdateswithcorrectiveactionstepswhen
necessary.Ensureannualworkscheduleisonmasterstaffscheduletoincludedays/shifts
worked,vacations,andknowndaysoff.

Effectivelyleadandmanagethemaintenancestaffasapplicableincluding,butnotlimited
to,hiring,training,scheduling,conductingemployeeperformancemanagement,and
recommendationsforpromotionortermination.

Establishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithvendorsandservice
contractors.

Complywithpurchasingdepartmentdesignatedsupplycontractrequirements.

Providequarterlyandannualsupplyusageforecasts.

Maintainapprovedinventory.

Monitorandprovideusagereportsonallsupplies.

Managesenergyconservation,recycling,structuralpestcontrol,asbestosabatementand
otheroperationalproblemsatthefacility.

Ensurespersonalattendancetrackingisconsistentwithproperpayrollproceduresatall
times.

PerformanceevaluationssubjecttothePMP(PerformanceManagementProcess).

CoordinateconstructionandrehabilitationworkwhenapprovedbytheCEO.

Servicesfoodserviceareaandequipment;consultswitheducationandfoodservicesstaff.

Performotherdutiesasrequiredcoursework.

SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:

Minimumqualicaons:

CulturallycompetentandpossessastrongunderstandingofChicagosnonprotlandscape,and
theissuesfacingAfricanAmericanandLanocommuniespreferred.
Knowledgeandexperiencewiththehistory,assetsandchallengesofLileVillage,North
LawndaleandPilsen.
MustpossessaHighSchooldiplomaorG.E.D.equivalent
Minimum3yearsbuildingengineerexperience.
Experienceinsupervisoryposion.
Physicallyabletoperformmaintenanceworkinmostweathercondions.
Beabletoliupto90lbs.
ExperienceusingBuildingAutomaonSystemspreferred.
