Hosea 6:4 What shall I do with you, O Ephraim?

What shall I do with

you, O Judah? Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that
goes away early.
Hosea 9:1 Do not rejoice, O Israel! Do not exult as other nations do;
for you have played the whore, departing from your God. You have
loved a prostitute's pay on all threshing floors.

Isaiah 1:4-9 Ah, sinful nation, people laden with iniquity, offspring
who do evil, children who deal corruptly, who have forsaken the
LORD, who have despised the Holy One of Israel, who are utterly
estranged!
5
Why do you seek further beatings? Why do you continue to rebel?
The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6
From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in
it, but bruises and sores and bleeding wounds; they have not been
drained, or bound up, or softened with oil.
7
Your country lies desolate, your cities are burned with fire; in your
very presence aliens devour your land; it is desolate, as overthrown by
foreigners.
8
And daughter Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a shelter in a
cucumber field, like a besieged city.
9
If the LORD of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we would have
been like Sodom, and become like Gomorrah.
Isaiah 11:1-9
A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall
grow out of his roots.
2
The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge
and the fear of the LORD.
3
His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by
what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear;
4
but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with
equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of
his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

Righteousness shall be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the
belt around his loins.
6
The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the
kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall
lead them.
7
The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie down
together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8
The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned
child shall put its hand on the adder's den.
9
They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will
be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Jeremiah 31:31-34
The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new
32
covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
It will not
be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them
by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt -- a covenant that
33
they broke, though I was their husband, says the LORD.
But this is
the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,
says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their
34
hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
No
longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, "Know the
LORD," for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the
greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember
their sin no more.

Ezekiel 37:1-6; 11-14

The hand of the LORD came upon me, and he brought me out by
the spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of a valley; it
2
was full of bones. He led me all around them; there were very many
3
lying in the valley, and they were very dry. He said to me, "Mortal,
4
can these bones live?" I answered, "O Lord GOD, you know." Then
he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry
5
bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD to
1
6
these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I
will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and
cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you
shall know that I am the LORD."
....
11
Then he said to me, "Mortal, these bones are the whole house of
Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are
12
cut off completely.'
Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says
the Lord GOD: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from
your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of
13
Israel.
And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your
14
graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people.
I will put
my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your
own soil; then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken and will
act, says the LORD."
