COURSEDESCRIPTION:Useofcomputerapplicationssoftwareasapartoftheengineeringdesignprocess.
Introductiontothefiniteelementmethodforstressanalysis.Softwarepackages,suchasnonlinearsolvers,finiteelement
analysis,solidmodeling,andkinematicsimulation,willbeintroduced.Designworkusingthesetoolswillbeamajor
componentofthecourse.

onesownwork,submittinganacademicexercise(writtenwork,printing,design,computerprogram)that hasbeenprepared
totallyorinpartbyanother,acquiringimproperknowledgeofthecontentsof anexam,usingunauthorizedmaterialduringan
exam,submittingthesamepaperintwodifferentcourseswithoutknowledgeandconsentofprofessors,orsubmittinga
forgedgradechangeslip orcomputertampering.Thefacultymemberhastheauthoritytograntafailinggradeincasesof
academic misconductaswellasreferringthecasetoStudentLife.
PLAGIARISM
Youareexpectedtosubmityourownworkandtoidentifyanyportionofworkthathasbeenborrowedfromothersinany
form.Anignorantactofplagiarismonfinalversionsandminorprojects,suchasattributingorcitinginadequately,willbe
considered a failure to master an essential course skill and will result in an F for that assignment. A deliberate act of
plagiarism, such as having someone else do your work, or submitting someone elses work as your own (e.g., from the
