Overview


The Nastar WCDMA is applied in the following scenarios:




Routine network monitoring




The Nastar can automatically generate periodical reports on


network monitoring. You can also export the reports
simultaneously. You can monitor the performance of networks by
analyzing the reports.

Analyzing and locating




To locate problems or analyze network performance, you can


connect the desktop or portable PCs that are installed with the
Nastar WCDMA client software to the PNS.

The workflow of the Nastar WCDMA is as follows:

Collecting data


You can manually collect the network optimization data by using the data collection tool,
or the data collection tool automatically collects the network optimization data. Huawei
recommends automatic collection. The PLS collects and preprocesses the CHR data and
imports the data to the PNS.

Storing data

The data collection tool automatically uploads data to the PNS through the FTP. The
Nastar WCDMA Transdata is a data importing tool in the PNS. You can start the
Transdata and it automatically imports periodic data to the SQL Server in the PNS.

Analyzing data


The Nastar client program analyzes data. The data is displayed on the PNS or Nastar
client.

Data import rate




Three minutes are required to load the original-granularity


performance data measured at intervals of 30 minutes from
500 NEs in one day.

Five minutes are required to load the CHR data of 10,000 calls
in one day.

Two and a half minutes are required to load the MML data.

There are 3 major steps to obtain the RTWP trace data from
M2000:


Starting tracing

Uploading data to M2000 server

Downloading data to local terminal

To start the tracing, perform the following steps:




Open iManager M2000 Mobile Element Management System (MML


Command) window

Select the NodeB to be traced

Run the STR RTWPTTST command. Set Detection Type as AUTO.

IOS Tracing


The IOS data can be obtained from the BAM server

The IOS tracing of the LMT contains some important data


during calls. By default, however, the IOS tracing event
does not contain detailed coverage information.

To obtain the IOS data, perform the following steps:




Start LMT for the specific RNC

Choose Maintenance > Service > Trace Management > Interface


Trace Task > IOS

Enter values in Calls count and Cell ID in the IOS Tracing window

Select FORWARD_POWER_CONTROL_DATA and


PROPAGATION_DELAY in the IOS Tracing window

Click More Info

Select All in RAB Traffic Classes, 2,000 in RRC (MS), and 4,000 in
UE Quality RRC (ms)
