Experiential homework, or: Real World Practice!

Worth up to 25 points
Between now and the next class, take the opportunity to practice
using the current dialect in a real world setting.
Choose a setting where you will speak with someone you dont already
know, and that allows you to have, or come close to, an actual
conversation consisting of more than a word or two.
This may be as simple as asking for more information when ordering
food, to speaking with someone in IT about computer issues, to asking
for directions from someone on the street.
After youve done the assignment, complete a brief reflection on the
experience. Included in the reflection should be: the setting, who you
spoke to, the specific dialect and regionalism, if applicable, if you were
alone or with someone, how the person responded to you, and how you
felt during and after.
Due date will be on your schedule and/or discussed in class.
Score will be based on content specificity and detail, not on format.
