T presents words that appear in the story: (hot, cold) porridge, (soft, hard) chair,
(soft, hard) bed.
TPR games:
T places flashcards on different corners of the classroom and says: find a ....
(eg. Cold porridge).
T asks Ss sit on their chairs, to pretend that they are laying on a bed, or eating a
porridge.
Ss sit in a ring.
T reads a story.
Each student has to say one word or sentence that remembers from a story, as a
prize s/he gets a sentence written on a slip of paper. Then they are repeating
those sentences after T.
1. T reads a story once again, then the Ss have to stand in a line in the right
order (according to sentences).
2. T chooses one sentence and repeats it standing next to all of the students
at a time. When T stands behind the S that has that particular sentence,
all of the remaining Ss have to say stop.
3. The T chooses another sentence and repeats the previous activity but the
Ss have to repeat the sentence when the T stands behind the S. If T stops
behind S who doesnt holding the sentence T is saying, the Ss have to
stay silent.
4. Tasks Ss to close their eyes. Then, the T takes a sentence from one of
the students. Ss open their eyes and are supposed to say the missing
sentence.
Ss back to ring and sit. T reads the story and the Ss have to act out the sentence
that appears in that story. T reads a story and when its time to say a sentence,
the S whos holding that sentence says it out loud. If s/he forgets to say it
properly, the other Ss may help him/her.
T asks Ss to tell about the story, whether they liked it or not. Also, T can ask
students to recall some sentences of the narrator (T).
