CONSTRUCTION: -

1. R 11 engine is an axial flow two spool turbo jet engine.

2. The compressor is twin section twin shaft with three stage second (high
pressure) section.

3. The combustion chamber has ten can annular combustion liners.

4. The turbine is also twin section twin shaft construction.

5. The front section is on a common shaft with the second compressor section and
the rear turbine section on a common shaft with the first compressor section.
