Ufa will take European Championship Ice Racing

In Ufa, 25-26 February 2017 will take place XXI European Championship Ice Racing. This tournament will
be the seventh, which will be held in Ufa. The first six were held in 1964, 1965, 2003, 2010, 2013 and
2016.
At the European Championships in 2017 the riders will take part in ten countries: Russia - 3, Germany,
Sweden, Austria, Finland and the Czech Republic - 2, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland and Poland - one by
one. Furthermore, two racers puts Russia as a replacement.
History of European Championships originated in 1964. After two successive draws, held in 1964 and
1965, the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) has transformed the European Championship in
the World Cup. Resume the European Championships only in 1998, after the formation of the European
Motorcycle Union UEM, later renamed FIM Europe.
