ATTENDANCE POLICY

Visa students who attend a course at NED Training Centre are obliged by
law to have an attendance rate of greater than 85%.

NED Training Centre strongly encourages students to complete

their full 26 weeks of study in one block.

If a student wants to split their 26-week study period up into two study
periods of 12 weeks, separated by a holiday, the students must attend at
least 85% of classes during both 12 Week periods.

If a student is absent without any contact, the student receives a warning

e-mail, to remind them of their obligation to attend 85% of their classes
under GNIB regulations.

If the student continues to stay away from class, they will receive a second
warning e-mail.

If the situation persists, an official letter of warning is issued by post.

If the student remains absent and fails to make contact with school, a final
warning letter is issued. The student has 5 working days to reply and
resolve the issue. Failure to do so, results in student expulsion and the
GNIB being contacted.

NED Training Centre Certificates are only given to students who satisfy
the 80% attendance regulation.
If there are mitigating circumstances, students may appeal their removal
from the school register and request a meeting with the School Director.
This meeting will be attended by a second and possibly third member of
NED Training Centre staff. NED Training Centre will present the student
with a copy of all recorded warnings and their Attendance Record. The
student will have an opportunity to make their case, for example, an
illness with the requisite doctors note or compassionate leave. Any
judgement will be made in coherence with NED Training Centres stated
principles regarding attendance and in strict accordance with the
regulations from the GNIB regarding visa students. If in doubt, we will
contact the GNIB and seek clarification.

NB: NED Training Centre retains the right to expel students without issuing
all four warnings

HOLIDAYS

Students are required to take the first twelve-week block of

classes without a break.

After a 12 Week period, visa students may take a holiday if

they wish in agreement with NED Training Centres attendance policy.
After their break, they will then complete the second set of classes also in
a single block.
This does not include Christmas holidays when the school
shuts for four weeks and Easter holidays when the school is closed for 1
week.
