Project/Question Finalization
After doing individual research, our team reviewed all of
the above presentations by team members and finally
decided on the project for language learning. Our
question is: How we could
learn a new
language in an effective and fun
way?

5
Team Research on the Question
We did an extensive research on language learning.
Every team member presented his or her own idea
and later we brainstormed which one would work
best.
Learning a second language was a difficult task for most of
the members in our team. There are few books and websites
that exist, but those were not fun to learn. It takes lot of
time to learn.
We decided to follow a scientific method to work on the project as shown in the
next slide.

6
SCIENTIFIC METHOD OF OUR PROJECT FLOW
Ask a question: How we could learn a language
in an effective and fun way?

Do background research: We visited websites, apps, and read

books. Talked to parents , family members, and friends

Create a hypothesis: We can make language learning effective and fun by

creating websites, online games and apps, and coming up with new
hands on activities in the class or at home

Do an experiment to test Hypothesis: We visited Shishu Bharati School,

Sharon Public Schools, Sharon Public library and introduces our
websites and games to many people. We posted our Websites online

Analyze your data and then draw a conclusion: We noticed all the
students at SB and SPS are excited to have these awesome websites and
games. We saw 10+ unique visitors to our website every day

Report Results (was your hypothesis correct?): Our solution to

language learning is really EFFECTIVE and FUN!!!! 7
Sources of information
Books from Shishu Bharati (Shishu Bharati is an
organization that was founded by a small group of parents
who had immigrated to the U.S. from India and wanted to
pass on the knowledge of their mother tongue and rich
cultural heritage to their children) and public libraries
Discussing with the language teachers/experts at Shishu
Bharati
Discussing with the class teachers at Sharon Public schools
FLL resources
Websites on language learning
Youtube Videos on language learning
Discussing with parents, family members, and friends

Analysis of the Problem
Every kid presented their idea on how to learn second
language in a fun and effective way. Below is the list of few
of them.
1. Playing games in the class and online
2. Listening to audio books
3. Interacting with people from other culture
4. Watching movies or listening to songs
5. Playing jeopardy
6. Talking and playing over Internet with your remote
friends and cousins
7. Listening to songs and singing along.
8. Playing puzzles to improve your vocabulary.
9
Reviewing and Comparing Existing
Solutions
Our team did an analysis to see what the best solution is.
We also discussed with friends and family to get their ideas
on the solution. Every kid in our team prepared a detailed
write up on their ideas of best solution. After this process,
we decided to create websites and online games and Apps
which will be:
Free of charge (Thanks to: Weebly Education (Web hosting), For Games: Gamestar
Mechanics (for Game hosting), Other online websites and Youtube video creators)

Kids could learn language in their own space at home or in

school.
The website includes different games (built by us and others)
where kids can practice over and over again until they get
desired score.
The best part of this project is that it is developed by the kids
for kids, so it is very safe for kids to visit the site.
10
Our Solution: CREATING WEBSITES and ONLINE
VIDEO GAMES and APPS for language learning
We have learned through our search processes that most kids learn a second
language through:

- Hearing other people speak the language,

- Attempting and learning to Speak the language

- Learning to Read the language

- Writing in the language

Let us call this process the HSRW process.

So, that is why for this years FLL World Class project, our team Robo
Rampage has taken up the challenge of making the HRSW process of
learning a language a fun one. We are building a website that is a one stop
shop for many languages. The website uses videos, games, songs to make
the HSRW process a fun one.
