The Bid Shall be submitted in United State Dollars (USD) or the currency of the
bidders Country. All bids will be converted to USD using official UN conversion
rate at the time of bid opening for the comparision of the bids. The award of the
Contract and subsequent payment(s) will be in the currency of the bid.

(1) Each item in the Preliminaries and General Requirements, which the
Contractor wishes to price, shall be priced individually and the Contractor shall not
enter any lump sum covering more than one item or group of items. Items against
which no price is entered shall be deemed to have been priced and included
elsewhere in the Bill of Quantities:

(2) The Contractor shall provide with his Tender submission a detailed breakdown
of all priced items of Bill No 1, Preliminaries and General Requirements. This
breakdown of the items shall be in a format, which also clearly identifies any "Set -
Up", "Time Related" and "Dismantling Elements" of the costs :

BILL NO. 1 - CONSTRUCTION OF 3-CLASSROOMS BLOCK

Element No. 1 Excavation and Earth Work

Unless other wise stated, Rate shall include for

a) back filling with selected excavated material & consolidating. Surface


treatment; compaction before filling / foundation.

b) disposal of surplus soil as directed & keeping all excavations free from water
unless other wise measured separately.

c) any additional excavation for working space.

d) Trees will require protection

Excavation & Earthworks

A1 Excavate top soil 150 -200m thick and cart away to dispose as directed on site

A2 Excavate strip foundation trenches starting from the stripped level to a depth not
exceeding 1.5m deep. m 48.00

Fillings

A4 Filling under floor beds to make up levels with gravel or other equal and
approved good quality imported filling material: spread and compact in layers
not exceeding 150mm thick: by rolling with rollers to B.S 95-98% compaction

Anti-termite treatment

A5 Anti - termite treatment to fillings and tops of foundations: as " Aldrex" or


equal and approved insecticide treatment: applied in accordance with the
manufacturer's printed instructions : include for 10 years warranty period. m 179.00

fair cutting, plumbing angles, normal straight cutting, forming rebated

Damp proof course

Damp proof membrane

C4 Horizontal damp proof membrane :1000 gauge polythene membrane: laid on

The contractor is advised to refer to the specification prior to pricing of this
section of work

Steel Doors
E1 1500mm wide x 950mm high steel doors comprised 75 x 50 x 3mm square tube
frames, 50 x 50 x 3mm stiles, ledges and middle rails including gauge 20 sheet
facing inclusive all the preparations, welding and priming with 2coats of red
oxide primer paint No. 3.00

Finishes
The rate shall include for all temporary rules, screeds, grounds etc. for raking
out joints of new brick work or hacking new concrete for key, internal &
curved angles, joints between different surfaces arises quirks, inter sections
between curved or irregular surfaces, etc. and all making good around pipes,
sanitary fittings & the like.

All samples shall be provided for approval by the Engineer prior to purchase
of materials.

Wall Finishes
E2 12mm thick cement and sand (1:5) render on concrete or blockwork: wood
floated hard and smooth: to external walls m 132.00
E3 19mm thick cement lime sand (1:1:5) plaster finished smooth with lime putty
or concrete or blockwork: to surafces of internal walls m 194.00

Floor finishes
E4 40mm. thick cement and sand 1:3 screed bedding on the floors. m 165.00

Plinth Plaster
E5 20mm Thick cement and sand (1:3) render : wood floated hard and smooth to

Painting

Prepare and apply 2coats of high quality gloss black paint on general metal
surfaces
