Bureaucracy

by Jitrawan Ning

Bureaucracy is an idea of management and arrangement for

people who work together. Nowadays, we use this idea over and over
again by not noticing the advantages and disadvantages of it. So, this
discussion essay will cover both points of advantages and
disadvantages in Bureaucracy, which will focus on the six
characteristics.
Since Bureaucracy is a kind of arrangement, it actually creates an
orderliness. Orderliness is later helping to establish a stability.
Hierarchy creates a classes, which arrange by their power and
authority. Each organisation has the leader to take control and the
other subordinates are under that leader. Those rules and written
communication and records are the evidence for everyone to consider.
It makes us think and follow the same idea so that each society would
not be chaos; for example, MUIDSs rules. Students cannot go out of
school until the school ends and come to class on time. Whenever they
are absent, they have to sign a sheet to let the teachers and school
know. These are ideas of Bureaucracy that make managing and
controlling become easier.
Some of the Bureaucracy ideas might lead to the inefficiency of
each organisation. Bureaucracy specified and separate people into
different incumbent due to their abilities. So, people usually cannot
change their works. They have a fixed duties to do and cannot try new
things. It leads to an inefficiency because the workers will not
be enthusiastic about their woks; for example, people get fixed work
and fixed duties so they wouldnt have a chance to do another work. It
let them think the same and they will not be creative as much as they
could be. It could be said that Bureaucracy somehow discourages
peoples creativities and decreases peoples chances in their lives as
well.
In conclusion, Bureaucracy both has strength and weakness, just
like the other things on earth. if we applied Bureaucracy to each
specific situation correctly it would be more efficient.
