The group that presented the topic did an amazing job reporting all the chapters of
their presentation. The presentation focuses in Highway intersection, baseline traffic figure,
priority intersection, roundabout and traffic signal control. The group explained how
intersection should be design for the purpose of controlling traffic and merging streams of
traffic to minimize delay. This is attainable through choice of geometric parameters that
control and regulate the vehicle paths through the intersection. These determine priority so
that all movements take place with safety. Another topic of the group is the priority
intersection, where is occurs between two roads, one termed the the major road and the
other is the minor road. The major road is the one allotted a permanent priority of traffic
movement over that of the minor road. The minor road must give priority to the major road
with traffic from it only entering the major road when appropriate gaps appear.

Highway engineers must familiarize the baseline traffic figures and should be able to
follow standard specifications in designing intersections. Roundabouts should be place at
the right location and should have the correct diameter according to the project analysis.
Geometric design profoundly influences roadway safety; it shapes road user expectations
and defines how to proceed through an intersection where many conflicts exist.
