A BILL
To convert to clean air vehicles in order to prevent the problems associated with air
pollution. Achievement for the process will be carried out through government funding
and tax breaks with the Act for Green Cars.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as, Act for Green Cars or the Electric Car Act.
SEC 2. FINDINGS.
Vehicles that run on gasoline contribute to greenhouse gases and toxic elements such as
carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide. These elements trap heat to contribute to
Global Warming. Disastrous events follow due to climate change such as hurricanes and flash
floods. More critical to our species, human health is at risk. The toxins prevent full oxygen
exchange and lead to a wide range of various health concerns from asthma/coughing to
cancer/death. The American Lung Association has claimed that there is over 166 million
Americans living in unhealthy air conditions hazardous to their health. The health of Americans
are clearly at risk and the numbers are too large to ignore. This bill will address this issues.
SEC 3. PURPOSE.
The purpose of this Act is to protect the health of our current and future generations by
eliminating some of our nations main contributors to air pollution (automobiles). The
Environmental Protection Agency estimates that half the cancers caused from air pollution come
from elements emitted by cars and trucks. By eliminating/lessening gasoline run vehicles, toxic
emissions will be reduced and traumatic climatic events from Global Warming will slow down.
This will be a greater step into a nationwide push for modern ecofriendly technology.
SEC 4. GOVERNMENT ACTION.
The government will act immediately to cut down on air pollutants due to the fact that
automobiles are one of the main reasons to our nation's problems. Used every day by most
citizens, vehicles will be the main target to fix the problem. The government will promote green
(electric) cars to encourage the public to convert to electric automobiles. In addition, the
government will give a 10% tax break to individuals and companies who convert. The
government will also fund to replace gasoline stations with green electric charging stations in
order to make electric vehicles easier to use and easier to encourage purchases.
SEC 5. EFFECTIVE DATE.
The reporting to public eyes will bring effect immediately after approval from the
president.
