Responsibilities:

Lead and Manage a team of statisticians/modelers/data scientists

o Set career path, enable growth and manage attrition for the team members

o Motivate, mentor and steer strategic direction for the team

o Ensure training and development needs of the team using internal and
external options

Manage delivery of advanced analytic solutions

o Oversee delivery as well as contribute individually on projects

o Methodology development, scoping, effort/time estimation and costing

o Ensure standards on quality, timelines and scopes are met

o Make analytical choices and take technical calls on simple and complex client
problems

o Engage with clients to both understand the business problem as well as help
them understand the technicalities in a way that makes business sense

Plan, manage and grow P&L for the solutions team

Business Development and Growth

o Contribute to development of new pitches for existing and new clients


involving advanced analytics by collaborating with the pre-sales team

o Explore and Identify areas of new solution development by engaging the


domain experts and client engagement leads

o Create new solutions and capabilities that can be monetized

o Advise leadership on identifying and implementing specific capability,


practices, tools, and people that the organization would need to develop

o Show Thought Leadership in the area of solutioning and capability creation


utilizing deep technical expertise and nuanced business domain understanding

Industry knowledge: CPG/Retail mandatory; Telecom and Manufacturing good to have


Functional Knowledge: Marketing Science and Analytics, Market Research, Database Marketing
Qualification/Prior work experience:
Masters in Statistics

6+ years of experience in the above functional areas and industries

Deep expertise in using SAS, R, SQL, Matlab(optional)

Deep expertise in techniques like Time Series modeling and Forecasting, SEM,
Advanced Linear Regression (HLM/Mixed Models, Multiplicative models etc.), Logistic
Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering, Bayesian Approaches, Optimization and
Simulation
Experience in developing advanced analytic solutions like Market Mix Models, Trade
Optimization, Forecasting, Path Models, Discrete Choice Models, Strategic Segmentation
and Propensity Models etc.

Experience with CPG/Retail data sources like POS, TLOG, Panel, Primary Research
etc.
Soft skills:
Ability to work in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and
conflicting demands

Excellent executive communication skills

Critical Thinking Skills

Ability to influence and drive business and strategic decisions

Ability to become a Trusted Advisor to both clients and colleagues
