Guidelines to the Faculty Mentors

1. Addressing the respective sections between 3pm and 4pm on 3 rd March 2017
(Friday).

2. The Mentors address will cover the following points.

i) How to set the objectives in line with the project.

-each group shall set the objectives in line with the project and share the
same with the concerned mentor by mail, latest by 2 PM on Saturday, the
4th March 2017. If it is not received by the mentor within the said
deadline, the group will not be allowed to take up the project and will
consequently lose marks apart from being reported to the bank.

The mentor shall confirm the set objectives so shared by groups, with
corrections needed if any by 5 PM on the same day. ( who should I
confirm ?)

ii) How to go about the Project

Branch visit (Please check the allotted day)

-Groups shall visit the designated branches at the rate of only one group
per day in order to cause least disturbance to the branch.

-Students groups should visit the branch and observe its functioning
without disturbing the branch-routine work. They will also collect needed
clarifications about their respective project work.

Some groups will go for branch visits after the field work. Such groups
shall share their findings with the Branch Head/Officials and seek their
opinion.

-Clarifications if any can be noted down and discussed either with the
Branch Head or any other staff member with the permission of Branch
Head as per their convenience.

-Groups have to necessarily spend the whole allotted day in the branch
and note down their observations.

Visit research & survey ( what kind of survey has to be done, is

there any questionnaire?) Is questions to be in line with the topic
allotted by you?

-Group members can introduce themselves to public as students of PGDBF

of Manipal University doing a project connected with Bank of Baroda.

1
-Allotted day for field visit shall be utilized for scanning of environment,
interacting with a cross section of society so as to collect the required
information connected with their project.

-During the survey the intention shall be to collect first-hand information

connected with the respective project. Student groups can make use of
the mentor pre-approved list of questions for interacting with public.
( questions?)

-They shall cordially interact with public without entering into any sort of
arguments and controversies. If any member of the public refuses to
speak or entertain, students should quietly withdraw from the
conversation. Students shall strictly avoid responding to any controversial
questions and issues and tactfully retreat.

Preparation for presentation:

On the allotted day the participants can stay back in the campus and work
with their respective groups preparing for the presentation on the topic
allotted. They may prepare for the presentation in line with the guidelines
shared with them. ( what are the guidelines given to students for
presentation)

The entire project work would be evaluated as per the matrix shared and
all the members of the group would get the same marks irrespective of
their individual contributions. Therefore group members and the
leader should make all efforts to lift the quality of work done by
the entire group and presentation to secure highest marks.

The marks for the project work will be awarded after evaluation by two
faculty members and representative from the bank. This shall be one of
the components taken into account for categorization of the participants
as top, mid and bottom at the end of each term.
