Profile
In education my goal is to motivate and encourage students to find success. Much of my
education has been fueled by engaging, practical and skill based learning and discovery
which I would like to impart on the students that I teach. Throughout my teaching
experiences I have gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of developing
connections with the students so that every student feels like they are an important
member of the learning environment. I got into teaching because of my love for learning.
I am always trying to discover more about what is around me. Additionally I have a
passion for sports and activity, I feel that the education field is a great position for me to
be able to teach students about what it means to be healthy and active whether it is in a
classroom or during extra-curricular activities. Through teaching I am hoping to continue
my learning as I learn more about the subject areas, myself and the students I teach. I
feel that teaching is one of the only professions that encourages not only the
development of ones self but also of others.

Work at the school included development of lesson plans, delivering lessons both inside
the classroom and in the gymnasium. Additionally this included organization of
students for field trips, attendance, photocopying, classroom management with various
class sizes and settings, and supervision for extracurricular activities
This placement helped me to gain experience leading a class of students and allowed
me to develop my teaching style in a setting where I could be critiqued and supported
when I needed it. I learned that teaching is a lot more than going over the material but
also relies heavily on connecting with the students to meet their individual needs.
