Folks, Don't take your eye off the ball if it involves 2nd

Amendment and Obama! Thought I'd add this note of

explanation although it's already on it's way to the
editors!

Some are using the Snopes "explanation" to say the DoD

didn't do this. I've gotten notes that it's an e-Rumor
(Yup! It was! A true one!) Some said it was urban myth!
(Yup! True one!) Other's use Snopes, exclusive of research,
and Snopes explained it has been rescinded. Others excused
Obama since it was rescinded. Not me! Those folks don't
want the Buck to Stop with him. He's not a buck stopper.
It's gotta’ go to the folks way down the line. What a
difference between BHO and HST(Harry S. Truman).

DOD did do it. The Defense Reutilization and Marketing

Agency did put out the letters. It is under The Defense
Logistics Agency. They are under DOD and DOD is under the
Commander in Chief. Others are making light of it in that
it was rescinded 5 days after sent out. So, I HAVE done my
research. Maybe I should have made it even stronger. Just
don't be too quick to let Obama off the hook where the
Second Amendment is involved. Don't you think it's odd that
this brass resale would work so smoothly and unaffected for
all these years until less than 100 days after he enters
office? Curt

Obama shredding DoD ammo brass OBE? Nah! Altered by Events!

Many of us have been following the story of President

Barack Hussein Obama's DoD issuing letters cancelling sale
of used military ammunition brass to ammunition producers
in the US. The decision had been made to shred it and sell
it, probably to China, as junk brass metal, even though at
a significant loss in revenue to the DoD.

The NRA and many Congressional members reacted strongly.

The DoD quickly rescinded the plan. Suddenly, apologists
for Obama's Administration are soothingly telling us it's
rescinded and to not worry.

I've received feedback from several folks reminding me that

the dictum by the DoD is now OBE as in Overcome by Events.
I'd been following the story, looking for plausible denial
for the Obama Administration. I hope OBE doesn't mean an
assumption of overcome, "as in dead." I think that it is a
great leap to deem it OBE and believe it is a dead issue
for Obama.

Rather, I'll ask, "Was it just a trial balloon?" The

feedback I've received from people who accepted the OBE
story gives me even more grist. Obama's mignons say
"Relax, it's rescinded!" and "Don't blow up over this--it's
ok!" That mantra is too pat. Am I suspicious? You Betcha!
He's got over three and one half years left in this term,
holding control and power of the very liberal US Government
at his behest.

The question is, "Is it overcome by events or is it altered

by events? He played his hand. Some believe he got slapped
down. I'll venture he's not even hurt, just diverted, and
maybe not even that. I think he's naive on many matters of
international affairs, but not so domestically naive that
he didn't know this would happen. Maybe we're the ones
diverted, not him, by thinking he's now going to be less
committed. I put nothing past Obama. I believe his
commitment to taking this Constitutional right is absolute!
Targets for attack and strategies to end-run gun owners
include reloading materials, taxes on ammunition,
limitations on availability of gunpowder, caps, bullets,
further restrictions of sales, insidious limitations on
private exchange of guns by sale between friends, gifts
within families, and interstate transport of firearms.
Since Obama is in the Oval Office, he has the purse strings
and the reins on all the parts of government, and his
quiver is full of possibilities.

So I see no appreciable lessening of significance because

he has backed off on this probe. I firmly believe he's
committed to seeing our personal weapons stacked in the
fields, crushed and buried, just as was done in so many
places before. England, Scotland, Australia, Germany,
Russia, to wit.

The fact that he initiated denial of the brass being sold

for reuse by producers, at a great loss of revenue to the
DoD, is the story, not the rescission! Why do I say, "he?"
What are the possibilities that this was an initiative of
the DoD without the direction of Obama? He's the Commander
in Chief. It was his move. The DoD does what he says and
probably does so, moreso, than any other Department of
Government. The idea that it was done at all is the huge
point. Again, is it totally OBE or just laying back and
looking for another route to do the same thing? Intent is
the question. If Obama is willing to shred the brass, which
he's now demonstrated he's perfectly capable of trying, and
desires to do, then he is certainly capable of trying to
confiscate ammo, guns, and reloading materials.

By rescinding this, he is quite unscathed as the DOD takes

the rap for having done it. He takes the credit for
rescinding it. His desire for a 500% tax on ammo is still
out there in the ether. He's still got Homeland Security,
Commerce, and a plethora of agencies which can make life
difficult for supporters of the Second Amendment.

I give this gentleman no quarter. I firmly believe that he

is using every route to intimidate those who support the
Second Amendment and intimidate anyone who in any way
opposes his policies. His pronouncements on the Tea Parties
and the venom coming from his mouthpieces, calling
participants "racist rednecks," are ripe evidence that
intimidation is one of the arrows in his quiver that will
be strung on a moment's notice. His jokes and condescending
comments aimed at Conservatives clearly evidence his
disdain for anyone not of his radical Left ilk.

Every law abiding citizen who gets rid of their gun or

fails to get one because of his intimidation is a
success within his drive to take away our guns.

This is a call to arms

Georgia Arms is the 5th largest retailer of .223 Ammo in America.
They sell 9mm, .45, .223 ammunition.
They normally buy spent brass from the US Department of Defense.
Spent brass is "one time used" shell cases used by our Military for
training purposes.

They buy the brass, recondition it, and then reload the brass for resale
to Law Enforcement, Gun Clubs, Gun Shops, and stores like Wal-Mart.
They normally buy 30,000 lbs of spent brass at a time.

This week the DoD wrote a letter to the owner of Georgia Arms and
informed him that from now on the DoD will be destroying the spent
brass, shredding it.

It will no longer be available to the ammo makers, unless they buy it in a

scrap shredded condition (which they have no use for). The shredded
brass is now going to be sold by the DoD to China as scrap metal, after
the DoD pays for it to be shredded. The DoD is selling the brass to
China for less money than the ammo makers have been paying, plus
the DoD has to pay to have the brass shredded and do the accounting
paperwork.

This sure helps the economy now doesn't it? Sell cheaper to China ,
and do not sell at all to a proven US business. Any hidden agenda
working here? Obama is going after the Firearms Industry and our
ammunition!!

The Georgia Arms owner even related a story that one of his
competitors had already purchased a load of brass last week.
The DoD contacted him this week and said they were sending someone
over to make sure it was destroyed. Shell cases he had already bought!

The brass has no value to the ammo maker if it is destroyed/ shredded/

melted. The ammo manufacturer only uses the empty brass cases to
reload different calibers, mainly .223 bullets.

The owner of Georgia Arms says that he will have to lay off at least half
of his 60 workers, within 2-3 months if the DoD will no longer sell spent
brass cases to the industry.

Georgia Arms has 2-3 months of inventory to use, by summer they're

out.

If the Reloading Industry has to purchase new manufacture brass

cases, then the cost of ammunition will double or even triple, plus
Obama wants to add a 500% tax on each shell.
